I wanna rock n roll all night....

I had a really good blog post written here. Then, Blogger freaked out
on me and I lost the post. No draft auto-saved or anything. So I
wrote it out again and when I almost had it done, Firefox shut down. I
got back on and what do you know, the post had not saved in a draft.

NORMALLY, I never have any problems with Blogger but FUCK that was
annoying. So maybe cosmically I'm just not supposed to write about
what I was going to write about today. So maybe third times a charm
but fuck it, I don't feel like writing it out a third time, lol.

Work was kind off odd last night. We weren't busy but we were steady
all night. It was weird though. Shamrock and I kept up with the drink
orders but we couldn't keep anything cleaned or stocked and couldn't
get any sidework done. We keep rushing around trying to get shit done
but it just wasn't working. I ended up annoyed and with a headache,
lol. Hopefully tonight and the rest of the weekend goes more smoothly.

Okay, so I have an interest in a lot of things regarding people. I
always wonder about things. So right now, I'm curious to know how long
y'all (the people crazy enough to read here regulary or even at all,
lol) take in the shower. In general. Not when you're in a rush and not
when you're taking longer than normal. Just on a regular basis, how
long do you take in the shower? I'm only curious because pretty much
everyone who knows me thinks I take insanely fast showers. I think
most people I know just take way too long, lol. So yeah, I wonder
about weird things from time to time. It's okay, I just think way too
much about way too many things. I'll have to write about why I think
"eardrums" is an inaccurate name for them and what I think they should
be called and why, haha.

I have a design for my wrist tattoo finally! My awesome boyfriend took
my ideas & drew me something out that I LOVED. I have been trying to
draw something out for a while. Even though I envisioned it perfectly
in my mind, I could never get it right on paper. So yay!

Happy Friday y'al

She ain't no Cinderella when she's getting undressed...

Well well well.... I had Wednesday off from work.

I went out to lunch with my mom and sister. Ran in to a co-worker while at the restaurant. One that I really like too so it was actually a pleasant exchange.

Afterward, we went to the mall. I needed some sandals. I'm convinced my letter to Mother Nature will prove successful and I don't wear anything but sandals, flip flops or open toed shoes in the warmer months. Of course, I don't own a lot of shoes. I can use one hand to count the pairs of shoes I have and still have room for more, lol. So I only have a cheap $5 pair of flip flops that annoy me because they're cheap, shitty little things but you get what you pay for and at the time that was what I could afford. So, I was in search of sandals that won't make me cringe and that was pretty much my mission. Of course, I hate the mall but meh, I had checked several stores in search of sandals and came up with a big fat fucking nothing. I'm PICKY. I don't like girlie stuff and that generally presents a problem when I need to shop for stuff.

The first place I went was Hot Topic. They had some sexy as fuck boots I wanted and some sexy as fuck platform pumps I wanted too. At $95 and $65 though, they weren't what I was going to get. Also not what I had set out for and I just like to get what I want and be done. I didn't like any of the sandals they had. They all looked like someone had puked neon paint in stupid designs all over them. I gather from all the shit I saw today, neon colors are back I guess and ick. I'm so not wearing shirts that look like people puked neon splats of paint randomly all over them and then after it dried, put some design in the center of the mess. Not doing it with pants or shoes or anything else either.

Though while I was in HT, I did find some stuff I liked and decided to buy just because.
I love Apocalyptica and have for years. They're a bit more popular now so they had one t-shirt on the band shirt wall. Which made me happy because it was pretty cool looking and I love the band. I wish you could suggest bands for them to find shirts for to sell, lol. Maybe I should just design my own for the bands I love that aren't mainstream enough. Hmm, there's an idea. I digress. I got that shirt and then I moved on to another wall I always have to look at in there....

.....Yeah, the wall that has the socks, leggings, arm warmers, gloves, scarves and all that stuff. If you've read here long enough, you know I freaking love socks. I have more pairs of socks than any person really needs. Some chicks have one hundred pairs of shoes. Me? Nah, I have three or four pairs of shoes but I have one hundred pairs of socks. Of course, that's a minor exaggeration but you get my point. ;) I saw about ten pairs I liked but settled on these two pairs......

After getting my socks picked out, I decided to buy something I haven't purchased in a long time. I'm talking something I haven't purchased in years. Earrings. Yep. I don't ever remember to wear them anymore so it isn't generally necessary to buy new pairs of them. I have issues buying earrings generally too. I don't dig girlie ones. I don't do trendy ones. I'm a picky fucking chick basically. I hardly see earrings I like and I don't like to shop long enough to really search much for them. I found some I liked in HT though.

Oh, you noticed there's a pair missing? How very observant y'all are. ;) If you didn't notice, no big deal. The missing pair are these little spikes I saw and liked. I used to have a pair similar to this but then sadly, I lost them. They aren't on the package because they're chillin' in my earlobes.

So that was all I got in Hot Topic. By then I was thinking I might just forget about the sandals since I got some other shit that I hadn't intended to get but then I was thinking on it and decided to go search out some sandals anyway. Why work so hard if you can't buy some small stuff you'll like?

I did find some sandals too. It was the only pair out of like fifty+ Famous Footwear had that I liked at all, lol. I'm picky, as I said.I also don't like the twenty+ pairs of sandals I saw that have that quark board looking wedge on them or whatever that crap is. Bleh. I wear a size nine to a ten depending on the brand and it's a little difficult finding shoes I like in my size. A lot of times I will find one pair of shoes I like and then they won't have them in a big enough size for me, lol. Anyway, here are the ones I got. Pretty simple and black of course. The Stars were what caught my attention. ;)

That concludes the picture show of my shopping extravaganza. Next time I go to the mall, I hope it's at the end of the year to knock out my Christmas shopping. *grin*

Come one, I KNOW more of you want to battle me on that silly little game I was talking about a couple days ago. MsRummy on MyBrute! Create your characters using that link (you know, so you can help me out and have fun too! *wink*) Unless you have already then hey, you rock and thank you! I'm slightly shameless, I admit that, it doesn't bother me, no need to mention it. I could be far worse things, after all. ;)

So, if you're a dork like me and read webcomics but some how don't read Questionable Content, you totally should. The Engineer turned me on to that webcomic several years ago and I've been a loyal reader ever since. It starts out kind of slow but it's awesome to see the art and the wit of the banter progress. I fucking love it. Pintsize and Hannelore are my two favorite characters, they're pretty awesome.

My post title comes from this song. =) I usually don't mention the song my title comes from but generally my titles are lyrics out of songs. I've had this song stuck in my head the last couple of days. It makes me chuckle.

Happy Thursday!

I couldn't find a way to help you grow, black rose...

Dear Mother Nature,

It's May now. It's Spring. I would really love to see some warm weather and go swimming in one of the lovely outdoor swimming pools that my complex has to offer. I would enjoy some blue skies, sunshine and warm weather so that I can jump into the cool, blue pool. Arms slicing through the water, back and forth back and forth. I love the feel of the water against my skin as I glide through it swimming laps. I further love the feel of sunshine on my face, neck and shoulders as I swim. The only time I like the sun at all is when I'm in the pool for that matter. Please don't deprive me of the one thing that lets me enjoy the bright sunshine. Of course, you'll need to let the sun actually come out from behind the rain clouds please.

I do love the rain. Don't get me wrong. Rain and gloomy weather make me feel peaceful and even allow me a little bit of contentment to wash over me. Lightning fascinates me and thunder is nice as well. I love walking in warm rain and I love sitting and watching the storms pass in cooler weather. I do love the rain BUT COME ON! I only get a few months out of the year to go swim and actually soak up some sunshine. You know I don't like being out in the sun the majority of the time, evil bastard that burning ball of gases can be.

I'd like to see it warm and dry. I'd also like to go out without having to tote along a jacket with me as well because inevitably, I will end up freezing my ass off once evening hits and the temperature drops from cool to cold. I also want to wear sandals without worry that I'll end up with soaked feet because those hazy clouds turned into some nasty rain. Or without worrying about getting cold because my toes are attempting to freeze off.

So in conclusion, please send the warm weather on and let the sun come out to play. It would be much appreciated. Not just by me but by tons of other people who want to be able to enjoy some warm, dry, lovely Spring weather too.

With love,
Amorous =)

She's like cocaine, heroin, alcohol, vicodin; She's my addiction...

The Model: I'm dating this woman that's 17* years older than me. People have been giving me a little grief over it and I don't know what to do because I'm tired of hearing about it but I really like her and she makes me happy. I just am so tired of justifying myself about it you know? Do you think it's okay for me to be dating someone 17 years my senior?

*The Model is 23.

Me: Why wouldn't it be?

The Model: I don't know babe. It's just... She's older than my big sister. She was with her ex-girlfriend for 8 years and they broke up a year ago and she swears she's long past that and I believe she is but people think she's with me because she got burned so bad. Her ex dumped her in a bad way. She has had some flings after the break up and she doesn't hardly bring up her ex and doesn't have anything that belongs to her and doesn't have any pictured. But by dating me, people say she's just trying to feel better and prove she's still hot by dating a hot young girl. I guess the age difference is the biggest hang up everyone seems to have.

Me: Okay. Do y'all have similar interests?

The Model: Yeah. Loads of them. Music, movies, books, food, museums, stuff we like to do for fun. All kinds of shit haha. She even collects bottle caps and troll dolls like I do!

Me: Nice. Do y'all have similar views on things?

The Model: Oh yeah. We even agree on religion and politics.

Me: Sweet. You said she makes you happy?

The Model: Yeah. She's kind, funny, intelligent and sweet. She's good to me. We have loads in common. We share similar views on things. She cooks for me. She makes me laugh. She treats me well. So well.

Me: So who gives a shit if she's older than you?

The Model: I just don't want people to keep giving me hell about it. I also don't want to hear that she's only with me because she needs the ego boost.

Me: Who cares what people say? People are always going to run their mouths. There are always going to be the ones shouting nay and the ones who want to see it not work. Some people are going to be uncomfortable by it and want to see it fail to ease their own discomfort. There are tons of reasons why this and why that. Tell them to lay off, you're going to date who you want and if they don't like it, too bad. They should be happy you're dating someone who is good to you. They can fuck off if they want to throw stones and talk shit over something silly.
If you like her, she likes you, y'all want to be together and you make each other happy then don't you think that's worth more than what people might say about you? Don't you think you're going to miss out on your own happiness if you're always trying to make everyone else happy instead?

The Model: Damn, you're good. You're not going to send me some kind of bill for this conversation right? ;)

One thing I want to say, age does matter at some point. I think a 16 year old dating a 25 year old isn't cool. I think when it's someone that young, it's not a good mix. I don't think a 16 year old who is just exploring relationships and possibly sexuality has the experience and the maturity to deal with someone that much older than them in a relationship sense. I'm sure there are exceptions but as a general rule, I just don't think teenagers should be dating adults that much older than them. Also not legal (in most states anyway, lol.)

When it's two mature adults though? Or even two adults who at least have a little bit of experience and a little knowledge of what they're doing. Even if it's an inexperienced 22 year old and a 33 year old, I still think that's fine. They might even be up for learning a thing or two from the older counterpart or vice versa. ;)

What do you, my dear readers, have to say on the subject at hand?

But the old me is dead and gone....

I'm a little nerdy. I love science fiction and fantasy novels and movies. I think I figured out the reason why the Twilight books don't much appeal to me. I know they're marketed towards teens and youngsters but I know PLENTY of adults in their 20's up into their 50's who are just as obsessed or taken in with the Twilight series as any dreamy 16 year old. I don't think they're bad but I don't get the obsession over them. I'll stick with my Laurell K Hamilton books. Anita Blake and her crew would totally prevail in a fight with the Twilight characters. Just sayin'. ;) Anyway, I got myself sidetracked there. I dig the vampire, were animal, mythological creature and all around monsters kind of shit.

Also, I love video games. My DS is probably one of the coolest gifts my boyfriend has ever given me. I also love his PS2 because the Devil May Cry games are some of the coolest games ever made, in my opinion. I also stumble upon silly little games online that I like to play. So in true beggar fashion, I'm going to request y'all to please check out this link for me and sign up.

MsRummy on MyBrute!

I need more pupils to progress in the game faster. You have to use that link to sign up though in order to help me out. It will take you to a page that has VS Ms Rummy on it and you just type in whatever name you want to name your character, change the look and go from there. So if you'll kindly click that link and take one minute to do the easy sign up (that doesn't even require an e-mail address) you would be helping me and my nerdy game loving self out. Pretty please? Hey, you might even dig the game yourself. It's not much actually. It's an amusing way to kill 5 minutes a day. Oh and you can totally fight my little character too. ;) Or you can just sign up, help me out and then never touch it again. Either way, I would appreciate it and you would be a super awesome person. *grin* If you are one of the awesome people who I manage to convince to sign up through my lame begging then feel free to let me know who you are so I know who my pupils are. Or you can be snazzy like Bella Dreamer and sign up using your blog identity. ;)

So, I came to the realization today that even after being together for almost 3 years, Boyfriend and I have never had "angry sex" at all. Not once. I've had it before with others but with him? Nope. Even with my bad temper, it's never happened. He doesn't get angry often. It just doesn't happen. He's not an angry person and he's got a world of patience. He's a seriously laid back and mellow kind of guy. And when I'm pissed, he ends up upset (usually if I'm pissed at him) or staying out of my way because it's the smart thing to do. Or, he tries to just rationally calm me down to the best of his abilities. Which he does pretty decently by either making me laugh or just shoving some mellow off on me.

We're insanely alike in a lot of ways and we have a truck load of things in common. We also have things one of us likes and the other one can't stand. (IE He likes the Beastie Boys, I can't stand them. I love techno, trance and stuff like that and he's not the biggest fan of that kind of music.) Then we have our personality differences. A few instances being that he's calm, mellow and laid back. I'm energetic, feisty and out going. He can have fun sitting at home and doing nothing. I like to be out and about going going going and doing doing doing. In our differences though, we tend to compliment each other. I'm a little less loud and crazy and don't mind spending a night sitting at home not doing much. I used to get stir crazy doing that and just couldn't stand it. I don't feel the need to go out every night anymore. Him, who was perfectly content to sit around all the time likes to go out a bit more and do more things. It's cool because we're enough alike in our personalities and interests that we get along wonderfully but not so much alike that we drive each other batshit crazy.

At work last night, I got to wait on a group of guys. Some basketball players and their coaches. They had a check that was almost $100. One of the coaches was paying for all the food and paid with a credit card. It took me three trips to get all their stuff out to them and I got them every thing they needed and I made sure they had plenty of napkins (because you know, hungry teenage boys are kinds messy ;)) and checked on them a couple times to make sure all was well. No tip though. They were nice enough to clean up their tables though. I was so not looking forward to that since the first time I walked by there were napkins and junk all over the place. They cleaned up once they were done eating though. I did appreciate that.
It's always nice when someone cleans up their own mess as much as they can. I fucking hate it when a customer leaves and you have to go clean their table and find ranch smeared on it, pieces of food here and there, lettuce strewn from here to there, other various toppings mashed and stuffed in places, sticky substances that you're not sure about, food dropped all over the ground, condiments dropped on the ground on purpose, dessert toppings smeared on the tables and dropped on the floor, shredded up napkins and all kinds of other crap. Seriously, would you do that shit in your house? Do you not realize that someone has to clean up that disgusting mess you just made? I know it's part of the job we get paid to do but you don't need to go out of your way to make a big mess just because you don't have to be the one to clean it up.

Also last night at work, this woman asked me if I could bring her some honey. We don't have honey actually. NOTHING on our menu requires honey so, we don't have it. Looking at their meals, I was perplexed on what she would need honey for. Given her and her dining companions had various things, all different from the other. A burger with chili fries, a salad, a grilled chicken sandwich, plain fries and all of them drinking sodas. I asked what she wanted the honey for. She wanted it for her french fries. She liked to mix ketchup and honey together. I laughed and said that sounded odd. She said, "They mix is with mustard for honey mustard so why not mix it with ketchup for honey ketchup? It's good, you need to try it!" Then we had a small discussion about what I did eat honey on. She said she would try honey on fried chicken if I would try honey and ketchup mixed together. So, I did try honey and ketchup mixed together once I got home. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be much. I figured at most it was only going to make the ketchup sweeter and maybe have a hint of the honey flavor in it. I was right. Wasn't too bad either. If you want to eat sweet ketchup. I wouldn't go out of my way to mix it up and eat it again but meh, it wasn't the worst thing I've tried. I've tried some awful concoctions too. I have a ridiculous very healthy curiosity that can be rather terrible at times. I have to try almost everything. If it's new, I want to try it. I've tried some foods I knew would be disgusting but tried them anyway because hey, you never really know unless you try. Of course, I believe there are some exceptions. Some things (animal brains, insects, cow tongue) just don't appeal to me at all and I have no interest in trying. Given my curiosity, if I have no urge to try it just because I've never tried it before, it's not happening. If I can't wrap my mind around wanting to try it just for curiosity or experience sake, it won't happen, lol.

Last but not least, here are some helpful but mostly complete bullshit tips from yours truly.

-When putting eye drops in your eyes, keep your mouth shut. Just in case your aim is a little off or just in case you happen to flinch. Visine in your mouth is not the best thing to put in there.

-TAKE YOUR SOCKS OFF before YOU GET IN THE SHOWER.

-Sadly, duct tape does not fix everything. What can't be fixed with duct tape, is lost beyond saving. Throw it away and replace it immediately.

-Internet stalking is still stalking. Back away from the keyboard before your interweb privileges get revoked.

-Texting yourself to tell yourself you need to go home because you're out too late and have to be up early for work is actually not as good an idea as it sounds. Upon reading the text, you're likely to rebel against yourself and stay out later just to spite yourself. You're so independent and strong willed, you take orders from no one. Not even yourself.

Happy Monday!

Though it's easy to pretend...

Brought to you by: Amorous Rocker

Have you thought about an ex today?
Nope.

Do you believe in karma?
Something like that, yes.

What were you doing at 7am this morning?
Sleeping! That was 4 hours after I got home from work, lol.

How did you feel when you woke up today?
Relaxed.

Do you think your neighbor is hot?
No flippin' way.

Does your best friend have a myspace?
Almost all of them do.

Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Sometimes, lol.

Are you picky about who you give your cell number to?
Yeah.

Be honest, who are you texting?
Myself. I'm out past my curfew.

Are you a patient person?
Not so much. I've gotten better though.

Do you think a lot before you fall asleep?
Yeah, a few days worth of thoughts usually.

Are you wearing a sports shirt?
Yes, a Dallas Stars shirt.

Who was the last person you talked to before you went to bed last night?
My boyfriend.

Ever been in trouble with the police?
Not really. I've always talked my way out.

Honestly, have you done something bad today?
Depends on the context in which you mean bad. ;) There's a good bad and a bad bad.

What is something you do alot that makes people mad?
Be blunt. Say what's on my mind without thinking about it.

How often do you hold back from saying what you are thinking?
Not much. Only with a couple people that I know it does no good to say anything to one way or another do I hold back. Sometimes, it's not worth fighting over just to be told you're wrong.

Do you like meeting new people?
Yes. My friends call me the most "social antisocial" person they know. It's amusing. =)

Last time you made a bet with someone?
Lol. I'd rather not say. I lost too. Damn.

If you could make your lips bigger, would you?
No, they're quite fine the plump size they are now, thanks.

What are you good at?
Once, I tried to think of something that I'm not good at and because I'm ALSO good at thinking of things, the universe imploded. Luckily, I'm ALSO good at putting back together universes. You're welcome humanity. Also, I'm rather good at being silly, witty, sarcastic and utterly ridiculous in an amusing (to me) sense. ;)

Do you make fun of people who talk with a lisp?
No. That would be mean and not in a fun way.

What does your last text message say?
"I WIN SO HAHAHAHAHA SUCKAFISH!"
Seriously.

Do you hate your best friend's ex?
Which best friend? Hell I'll pick one at random... No. His ex deserves to find someone who will treat her spoiled ass like the princess she is because thankfully he stopped putting up with all her temper tantrums and drama queen bullshit and kicked her ass to the curb.

What kind of syrup do you use with pancakes?
I don't like pancakes. Waffles baby! And I use maple syrup. Or I use no syrup and put cream cheese and some fruit on them instead. Mmmm.

Happy Saturday!

It's the light in the night that shines so bright...

Sometimes, I really can't stand some of the girls I work with. They really, really piss me off.

At work Thursday night, a group of people came in. There were seven of them. Five of them were mentally handicapped and the other two seemed to be their care takers. They were bringing the five out for a treat. We have some kick ass dessert items and that's what they came for. Upon seeing them coming, one of my co-workers said, "Aww look, they let them out on a little field trip!" Like they're some little mutants that can only come out and play once in a while.

I told her that was a fucked up thing to say. She just shrugged and laughed. Another girl told her that was terrible but laughed right along too because after all, it was funny.

I ended up going and taking their order and had some difficulty because they couldn't decide what they wanted and they weren't sure what each thing was entirely. With a little explaining and a little confusion and frustration, I got it taken care of. Then I went back to my post and got to drink making and all that jazz.

The girl who further had to wait on them and carry their desserts out didn't want to. She even begged another girl to do it for her because she didn't want to. She said she didn't want to have to deal with doing separate checks. Which isn't hard at all actually. The other girl was busy though and wouldn't do it for her. So she got pissed off, groaned about it and then did it. Then she ended up griping about it because she had to "deal with those people" and "ugh it was so frustrating" because "they didn't understand anything!" Which is just an exaggeration. They required a bit more help than most customers do but so what?

After they left, the bitch who waited on them was going on about how she thinks one had down syndrome and some nonsense. Then she said something to the effect of, "I know they can't help the way they are but ugh I just don't like having to deal with those kinds of people. It's so annoying for us people who don't want to deal with stuff like that."

To which my only reply was, "That's fucked up. They didn't ask to be where they are and they don't deserve to be treated like shit because of it. Sorry but we can't all be perfect princess."

Which got me a death insinuating glare but she was smart enough not to say anything back. Sadly, I was hop
ing she would. I was ready to go off on her but not ready to make a scene in the middle of my job to do so. I might have punched her bony ass or said something particularly harsh and I really need my job. I worry about losing it over my temper at times so I try hard to keep it in check, even when I do get pissed off. I think I got the point across enough with what I did say and she didn't speak to me for the rest of her shift. Which is fine. I don't like that bitchy little brat anyway.

I was a bit annoyed for a few minutes then let it go. Then around closing time, I started thinking about it again and ended up feeling annoyed. I just don't understand people. Really. I don't. Then I felt sad. Sad that people who are different have to deal with ridicule and being treated poorly probably too often by ridiculous people like my co-workers.

And no, I don't feel sorry for people because they're deaf, mentally handicapped, blind, missing a leg, in a wheel chair, etc. I don't feel sorry for that group of people because they're mentally handicapped. What I feel sorry for is that they have to deal with people treating them like shit just because of a difference they can't control. Just because that difference might make them uncomfortable. I feel sorry because a lot of times with people who have a handicap, I get told "Don't worry about it, I'm/They're/We're used to it" because that's not something they should have to get used to. I don't treat them especially different because there is something "wrong" with them because there isn't something wrong with them. Maybe I am the one who is wrong. I think you should treat everyone like they're human, not like they're some mutant spawn freak.

*Ahem*

Happy Friday Y'all.
Have a good weekend.
