Mind fucks aren't fun at all..

Before I get to the actual part of this post where I say random stuff that you weirdos enjoy reading for some reason, let me be annoying and mention two things for the 123rd time so far this month.

First things first, if you haven't seen the Toys for Tots Fundraiser I'm doing (somehow, maybe you don't follow me on Twitter and haven't been here before ;]) then check that out here. It's a great cause and a donation of just a few dollars goes a long way. ;)

Second, there's a contest going on around here for a $25 gift card to Target. You don't have to make the $5 minimum donation for an entry into the contest because there are other ways to get entries that don't cost you more than some of your online time but a donation will get you can extra entry for the gift card. For the rules for the super easy contest, check it here.

Now on to my ramblings.

I organized a food drive late last week and had a couple of my friends help me out with it. I asked around and they volunteered so yay for having helpful friends. We managed to gather up 93 pounds of food from co-workers, neighbors, other friends, etc for the North Texas Food Bank which I delivered yesterday. I know if you have a lot of canned goods, that's not a lot. Out of curiosity, I asked, and only 29 lbs of that was made up from canned goods. See, I bother my real life friends with charity stuff too. ;) While I was delivering our haul, I ran into a friend I haven't seen in around 9 years. We used to work together when we were teenagers and I'm surprised she recognized me. I was heading back to my car when I heard someone from the sidewalk call my name out. We talked for about 5 minutes before she leaned in and asked me if I still got high then without waiting for an answer asked me if I wanted to go hang out back at her apartment because she had some "good stuff" as well as some good pot back there. I declined because I stopped doing the kind of drugs she was talking about almost 8 years ago. I did have a minor lapse with weed a few years ago but it's been 3 years and 2 months since I've done that. I work really hard to not fall back into old habits because I'm unable to use substances "once in a while." If I start, it's an every day or almost every day thing and I won't let myself be like I was ever again because I wasn't a functional, happy person then. I politely declined my former friends invite and for some reason, she got mad. She asked if I could give her a ride and I asked if she had any drugs on her. "Just a little heroin, no big deal" was her reply to that. I declined giving her a ride but offered to give her money for the bus that was pulling off. She took that and handed me a card with her cell phone information on it. Then informed me she also worked as a dealer so if I changed my mind... Sigh.

That whole interaction actually really fucked with my head. I started thinking too much about the person I used to be. The people I hung out with, the people I ignored but shouldn't have, the relationships I ruined, the multiple ways I just utterly fucked my life up... and instead of focusing on the fact that I'm not that person anymore, that I learned from those mistakes and that I made my life better; I let them swallow me and I felt suffocated by things and emotions that don't have a place in my life anymore. It's not like our passed is ever just gone but I don't live in the passed. Things happen, they shaped the things I did and got me to where I am and there's no sense dwelling on choices made that can't be changed or undone. I've never done that so the feelings I was having yesterday were almost foreign to me because I don't worry about things that are long since done. I didn't really know how to get out of the mood I was in. I wanted to talk to my friend Rob who has known me for over 10 years and knew me back when I was a much bigger mess than I am now but I knew he's been sick and didn't want to bother him. I wanted to talk to my boyfriend whom I met while I was in the process of trying to put my life and self in some kind of order but he works from 7 pm till 4 or 5 am and I can only reach him on breaks anyway. So instead, I didn't talk to anyone and decided I'd write about it. Which didn't help because I couldn't make the words in my head come out right on paper. I went to the gym and decided I'd work out because physical activity helps me when I'm stressed out or feeling bad. Sometimes it does anyway. I'm usually able to clear my head and focus more while working out and last night's session helped a lot. Now writing it out like this is helping because I finally got the words out that I wanted out and got back to realizing who I am and where I'm at in life which is far from where I used to be. And that's a good thing because that girl was an extremely unhappy, angry, self-destructive mess.

As an aside, there was a guy at the gym on the row of treadmills in front of me. While running he was playing something on his cell phone. He some how got so involved in whatever was on his phone that he lost his footing, tripped, smacked his face on the grip bar you ca hold on to, then fell down off the treadmill. He wasn't hurt. He actually laid there looking stunned and then started laughing. The girl next to me asked if I thought he legit was being a dumb ass or if I thought it was some kind of hidden camera show stunt going on. I said I honestly believed the guy was just being a moron and had an accident occur due to his stupidity. She disagreed and thought hidden camera show was more like it. She didn't want to be on "no damn reality hidden camera TV show" because she "don't look no damn good on TV" which she knew because she was on the news once after some kind of storm had happened and she looked "a fool" apparently. So she said she was going to go check for hidden cameras or a TV crew before she could finish her workout. I thought she was joking but she wasn't. She went around the gym checking for hidden cameras and asking the two employees there at that hour about if they knew anything about hidden camera shows. She even asked the treadmill guy if he was aware of anything. She eventually got satisfied that nothing fishy was going on but then left anyway just in case everyone was in on it. That weird incident also put me in a better mood because the entire thing amused the hell out of me.

That's enough out of me. Thanks for still reading and thanks for the emails many of you send always checking up on me when I'm not around much. I appreciate it. :)

Also thanks for those of you that have donated to the Toys for Tots fundraiser and thanks to those who have helped me promote the fundraiser. Even if it is just because you're trying to win that gift card, I still appreciate the effort and help behind it so much. :) <3 nbsp="nbsp">

Is Mayonnaise An Instrument?....

First, I want to do a quick fundraiser update. There's just under a month left to donate to my Toys for Tot's Fundraiser. Thus far, I've only raised about $144.00 for it. Which isn't bad because it's more than I started with and I'm happy to have that to work with for when I go toy shopping at the end of this fundraiser. I'm hoping I can get some more donations and get to at least $200. That would make it the lowest amount brought in but again, it's still better than nothing and will still make a difference to quite a few kids out there. It doesn't take much. Most donations have been for $5 and getting up to close to $150 off that isn't bad at all. So, donate if you can please and feel free to post about this on twitter, your blog, tumblr, facebook; whatever social media you spend time online. It would be much appreciated. And thanks so much to those who have donated. :)

Moving on to less serious and more possibly amusing things....

I find some amusing stuff on the internet. Tumblr in particular. So I'm going to share some things from there with some commentary from me. Exciting I know but I feel like doing it anyway and if you're reading this in the first place, I'll assume you're used to my nonsense. Or should be. Get on that if you're not, won't be changing anytime soon. ;)

BWA HA HA HA HA.

Ahem. I'm ignoring the less than perfect spelling in the first picture just because I get what they're saying. I would like to say that whole "pizza is a vegetable" thing is such a crock of shit, btw. Not that it needs to be said. It's not a fucking vegetable. If anything, it would be a fruit as they're basing it off it's tomato content and a tomato is technically a fruit. So, big fat fail there. Also, IT'S NOT A FRUIT NOR VEGETABLE. It's a combination of tomatoes, dough, cheese and sometimes meat and vegetables to make a tasty, tasty dish. Argh. I'm also super happy they don't have anything better or more important to discuss aside from shit like this.

This is my exact reaction when a song I haven't heard in A REALLY LONG TIME comes on....

At first it's like, "Wait, this sounds familiar....."

Then you hear that one verse that makes you remember the song...

Then you.....

So accurate. I probably get too excited when I hear a song I used to love but haven't heard in years but I can't help it. Once recognition kicks in and I realize I still know all or most of the words, I rock the fuck out.
--------------------------------------------------

That wouldn't surprise me. You know, if those objects all hard appendages and faces. A brain might be necessary, too. If they had all of those things, though, this would make PERFECT sense. Since they don't, I just have to accept that I probably need to pay attention to where I set stuff down. Or realize that these things all hide their appendages and smug little faces in front of me. Kind of similar to how Andy's toys only come to life when no people are around. I'm on to you; wallet, keys and remote!

---------------------------------------------------------

The only thing I have for this is that it's one of the fucking coolest pictures I've seen. Hockey is so awesome. So are badass photographers who manage to capture shots like this.

A tale of the guy who couldn't pee in the cup....

Warning: Gross and possibly offensive language/subject matter is ahead of you. Proceed with caution. If you end up grossed out or offended by anything, don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

I love my friends but sometimes the texts I get from them... I don't even know. And the conversations that spawn from random text messages? Here's one from yesterday, copied right out of my phone's inbox.

Guy Friend: "I need your help. Serious question here. I'm at the clinic and need to pee in a cup. I drank a couple bottles of water before I came but it's not making me have to pee."

Me: "Where is the question in all of that?

Guy Friend: "How much pee is a sufficient amount? I've only got like 1/8 of the cup filled. Am I good? If not, don't reply, just bring beer. That shit makes me piss like a racehorse."

Me: "That's probably not enough. Go ask how much they need for it to be sufficient. I don't work there, I'm not going to know."

Guy Friend: "I do not want to go ask how much pee I have to have in the cup. I'll look like an idiot. Can't you Google it or something?"

Me: "If you want it Google'd you should just use your iPhone. Don't be such a baby. They've heard worse and dumber questions before, you tool."

Guy Friend: "JUST BRING ME A COUPLE BEERS. I'LL BE ABLE TO FILL 3 CUPS IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES IF YOU BRING BUD LIGHT."

Me: "I'M NOT BRINGING BEER TO THE CLINIC FOR YOU. STOP BEING A TWAT AND GO ASK HOW MUCH FUCKING PEE YOU NEED IN THE CUP."

Guy Friend: "I'll just wait it out and hope the water makes me have to pee soon."

Me: "You take too long in there and they might think you're in there jerking off. I bet that would be even more awkward for you since you're scared to go ask about pee."

Guy Friend: "They're not going to think that."

Me: "Who takes this long to pee? What else are you doing in there assuming you're in there with your junk hanging out?"

Guy Friend: "You're not funny and they're not going to jump to that conclusion."

Guy Friend: "Great, now I can't even go ask how much pee I need in the cup because I'm worried they're going to think I was in here spanking it. Thanks. A fucking lot."

Me: "It's what I do. I get in your head and fuck shit up."

Guy Friend: " Why are we friends?"

Me: "No idea. Now seriously, go ask before they really start wondering what's going on in there. The longer you take, the more they'll wonder. They might even come knock on the door."

Guy Friend: "I don't want to go ask. I'm pretty sure this isn't enough but I don't know how much I need to squeeze out. Why didn't they tell me how much they needed before they sent me back here?"

Me: "If you don't go ask, I know where you're at. I will call and tell them you're in the restroom afraid to ask how much urine they need for a sufficient sample and have someone go back there to talk to you."

Guy Friend: "DON'T DO THAT."

Me: "Looking up their phone number now...."

Guy Friend: "Fine, I'm going to ask. Put Google away, jackass."

Me: "You better really be going to ask. Text me back and tell me how much you need in like two minutes or I'm calling up there."

Guy Friend: "Half a cup at least. They gave me some ice water with a few lemons in it."

Me: "Turn on the sink and listen to the running water. Or get on youtube and find a video of a waterfall or something."

Guy Friend: "This is ridiculous, fuck. I drank enough water and that water with the lemons was disgusting. I should be able to fill the cup by now."

Me: "Probably performance anxiety? Maybe some stage fright? Your urine is against medical testing and silently protesting?"

Guy Friend: "You're hilarious but not at all helpful here."

After probably 5 minutes, he sent me a picture of the cup full of his urine. I'll spare y'all the imagery there because I really could have done without it personally. Though he said it was in retaliation for me being somewhat of an ass while he was freaking out over the whole ordeal. And it was only pee, so not a big deal. We decided that given the nature of the testing (which I won't get into because he said I could post the conversation as long as I didn't say what it was specifically for or go into the story itself, which I wouldn't have anyway because it's irrelevant) he was probably just nervous and maybe a bit scared and that's what made a normally simple task quite difficult for him. Also, he's some how never had to pee in a cup before in his 24 years of life. Which led me to questioning if he's ever seen a doctor before, lol.

Happy Wednesday!

Contemplating your ruminations, dear people....

Sometimes, when I've got nothing better to do, I peruse the brain dumpage that goes on at message board for posting your random thoughts and rants. A lot of the time, I agree with at least half of the rantings on there. And if not, I at least get some amusement out of them. Though some, I have more in depth reactions to. Here are just a few examples of my deep thoughts of these ruminations. Enjoy, haha. ;)

"The phrase, 'We need to talk' has the ability to strike fear into the heart of anyone."

Mostly, that's a true statement. If it's a person I have no emotional tie to, it's not likely going to alarm me hearing that. I never worry that I'm caught in some deception or a manipulation scheme gone wrong because I don't play silly games like that. When I hear that phrase from someone I actually care about, I start worrying because I just assume that something is wrong or something bad has happened. I start running through all the possible things that could be wrong, all of which pretty irrational and highly unlikely. The worst is when the phrased is said hours before the talk actually takes place. Though being honest is helpful because it eliminates having to worry about being caught in some deception. One less thing to worry over. ;) If it happens at work, I just wonder what I've done wrong now or what silly little thing am I about to get nit picked for today. Or if I'm in a bad mood that day, I might wonder if I'm about to become unemployed but that's only a lingering, mostly quiet little thought behind all the other ones.

"
Sometimes I wish I could run over a pedestrian or hit the car in front of me, just to prove a point. "

So, proving a point with road rage and property damage? Makes sense. Seriously. How else are they going to learn? Being taught the proper ways, rules and laws to do things obviously doesn't work but having a reality check in the form of some road rage is sure to stun some sense in to people.*

"
Going to the circus as an adult is a very different experience. As a child, you ask, "How did they do that?" And as an adult, you ask, "How the hell did they end up doing that?""

My thoughts are more along the lines of wondering just who thinks up some of the wicked stunts these people pull. And then wondering why anyone would want to risk their lives for a 5 minute set while hoping they enjoy their profession as much as they seem to. Followed up by me wondering why the hell I'm at the circus when I hate clowns and being in an enclosed space with supposedly tamed formerly wild animals. Though back to my point. I don't like that a lot of people look down on circus performers honestly. I don't like that anyone is looked down on because of their profession, judged by how they earn a living, but that's another rant all together. Here, I'm talking circus performers. I don't see why that's such a bad or weird gig to have. Especially if they enjoy what they're doing. How many of you can say you truly enjoy what you do? I look at the circus as being a little bit like performing arts. Sure, it's a bit more unusual than ballet or musical theater but, so what?

"I bet the worst time of a mans life is the eve of his daughters wedding day at about 11:30pm. "Welp... MY little girl is getting absolutely railed right now. Awesome.""

So traditionally from this standpoint, isn't the sex after the wedding and the reception? Not on the eve? I'm not religious and not a traditional old fashioned type so I'm unclear on this but I always thought it was after the wedding hoopla that the sex was to happen. That point aside, I'd hope no one's dad sits around thinking angrily about his daughter getting it on with her new husband after their wedding. That just seems a little odd to me. People know their kids have sex just like you know your parents have had sex before. I choose to acknowledge that fact but never think about nor ponder the event. Ever. That's just not something I want to think about. And not something I'd want either of my parents thinking about in regard to me.

"
People say I'm a negative person. I'm not, I'm just consistent in being positive that bad things are going to happen."

You know those ironic tshirts with the clever little life anecdotes or sarcastic phrases on them? This should be one. I want to put this phrase on a coffee mug and set up shop outside of hipster coffee shops and bookstores and see how many I sell. People just love to make themselves seem positive when they're being negative because it doesn't seem as bad, so I'm sure I'm going to make a fortune with my new endeavor.

"I can't wait to be old so I can say, do and wear crazy things and it's considered cute not strange."

Or you could just stop caring so much about what people think. Dun dun dun. Seriously, people put way too much thought into what other people will think of them. You're never going to see most of the people you walk by daily again, who cares what they're going to think about you? And the people in your life that matter should accept you as you are. If they don't, well, they suck. Do what makes you happy and stop worrying about what everyone else is going to think.

"
I realize that you have a laptop with a built in camera, but it doesn't mean that you have to take a million pictures with it and post them all."

I don't even have a thought to go with this other than, RIGHT ON. I just wanted this one to be part of this blog post. Spot on. Awesome. Love it. Kudos. In case you're some how not getting it, I AGREE WITH THAT STATEMENT 100%. Everything is expressed more urgently and seen as more important when you say it in caps lock, right? Why else would everyone feel a need to prove their point in such a fashion? ;)

Happy Tuesday!

*If you took me seriously there, go lay down, please. I do not support violence or property damage though I am a big supporter of sarcasm. ;)

The $15 egg throw down and more...

The following are conversations I've had so far this week with employees at work.

E1: "'I have a question about something home related. I was just wondering, how long does it take for milk to go bad? I accidentally put the milk back into the cabinet and the cereal back into the refrigerator."

Me: "Ha, most people have done that a time or two before. How long did you leave the milk in the cabinet for before you remembered?"

"E1: Not long. Just 3 days. Maybe 4? I'm not sure. Less than 5, definitely."

Me: "I'd buy fresh milk and get rid of what you have at home."

E1: "Ok. It's still in the cabinet anyway. I forgot about it this morning again."

E2: "You know how in Dumb & Dumber they get in trouble for peeing in the beer bottles."

Me: "Yeah?"

E2: "I want to do that. Pee in beer bottles, get pulled over and argue about it being pee until the cop drinks the pee. I will have a friend in the back recording that shit so it can go on youtube."

Me: "You know, the cop would likely just smell it if he or she touched it at all. He or she wouldn't actually take a drink out of it."

E2: "How do you know? Are you psychic now?"

Me: "If by psychic, you're asking if I've got plenty of common sense, then yes, I'm psychic as hell."

E3: "You know what's a bad idea?"

Me: "Hmm?"

E3: "Chopping onions, handling onions and then rubbing your eyes. They burn now."

Me: "Go flush them."

E3: "Like, you mean in the toilet or...?"

Me: "What? No, keep your face away from the toilet unless you're vomiting. Rinse them out with water. Wash you hands, too."

E4: "If the moon were really made out of cheese, wouldn't that make bread the most popular grocery item in the space grocery store? And wouldn't it melt when it came in view of the sun? Or got too near one of the really hot planets? It doesn't look like cheese. Well, gross molded cheese maybe. That makes the moon moldy." <--He wasn't being silly, these were serious questions. I thought he was being goofy at first so I just let him go on but then he got upset when I wasn't taking him seriously. Oops.

E4: "What country is China in?"

Me: "You mean what continent?"

E4: "No, continent is like ketchup or something, right?"

Me: "No, that's condiment, not continent. China is a country. Asia is a continent. China is in Asia."

E4: "Wait, then what country is Asia in?"

Me: "..........I don't even know how to answer that. Asia isn't a country or in a country. Go to the library and do research this weekend on Asia and China and the difference between a continent and country. Please."

E4: "Does Dallas even have one of those?"

Me: "A public library?"

E4: "Yeah, I've never been to one or seen one anywhere."

Me: "Several." I then proceeded to attempt to explain country, continent, etc but didn't have much luck.

E4: "Do you think squirrels have sex dreams about acorns? Is that like a food fetish for them if they do?"

E5: "If I drop this whole carton of eggs, do many do you think will actually break?"

Me: "I don't know but put the eggs back in the cooler."

E5: "What if I accidentally trip and the carton goes flying out of my hands and lands on the floor? Then it'll just be an accident and I'll see how many eggs actually break."

Me: "I know it won't be an accident if you end up doing that."

E5: "If I trip, it's an accident."

Me: "Not when you're planning to trip. And you just told me the whole plan. So if you make yourself trip, I'm going to know you did it on purpose to see how many eggs will make it out alive."

E5: "What if I pay you like $15 to waste this one carton of eggs?"

Me: "Fine. Give me the $15 and then waste away."

*5 minutes later*

E5: "Haha! Only 5 broke. And omg I can't believe you let me waste a carton of eggs. Big Boss will be so mad at you tomorrow when he sees a carton missing. You're so in trouble."

Me: "I can't believe you gave me $15 to let you do it. I'll go buy a half dozen down the street for $1.50 to replace what you broke and that still leaves me with $13.50 profit. Thanks."

E5: "Wait... Damn."

And yes, sometimes, I do wish I were making this shit up. I'd end up facepalming less at work and likely end up with less headaches, too. Granted, this stuff doesn't happen every day and not everyone that works there is a complete goofball. Overall, I like my job and like most of the people I work with. Just some moments.... I just have no words for. I just shake my head and feel like smacking someone upside their own some days, lol.

Happy Friday!!

Good news & more!

Thank you to the people that have donated something to the Toys for Tots fundraiser. If you haven't and want to, there's still time to get a donation in! :) Every little bit helps. $3 or $5 isn't much but it will buy something. The post stuck on the top of the blog is updated with pictures of the toys I went and got with my money and a little detail on what I spent and how much the items cost. It really doesn't take much. :) And if you don't donate to my fundraiser, it's never too late to find a good cause and do a little good for someone else. :)

I'm not feeling so well today. Actually, the last few days I haven't been feeling so well but I've been taking some stuff so hopefully that helps combat this cold or whatever the fuck it is.

I have some good news from the work front. I'm a supervisor now. I'm also going to be coordinating events and helping with promotions and marketing. Yes, that comes with more pay. I wouldn't take on more work and responsibility without getting paid more. That would be dumb. Also on the good news front, the Boyfriend and I should be able to move out and back into our own place sometime in January. Hopefully. I cannot wait. I miss having my own place and I seriously dislike so much about my living situation currently. I can hang another month or two. :D Also, I'm thinking I might have things in order enough to start classes back up next Spring. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing. And keep being patient, which isn't always easy for me, lol.

The Stars play the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. They have won the last 3 (one against the Senators and 2 against the Blues) games they've played so hopefully they keep the winning streak alive and beat the Canes tonight. Which reminds me! I had to go in to Wal-Mart a few nights ago after work. I went to the one right by my job instead of waiting and going to the one closer to my house. The one close to work is in a nicer neighborhood, lol. I digress. I live in Dallas. I was walking by the clothes section on my way to a different section and some Stars pajamas caught my eye. I went to look and you know what else I saw?

Canes pajama bottoms in a Dallas Wal-Mart? WTF? And it's not like they had other teams besides the Stars and the Canes bottoms. The Stars bottoms make total sense. The Canes? Don't get it. They also have Cowboys, Mavs and Longhorns apparel over there, too. Which made sense since they're all Texas teams. Canes bottoms made me chuckle and shake my head. I posted it on Tumblr and amused several people there. Maybe there's a huge secret Canes following in North Dallas? Doubtful. The Wal-Mart by my house doesn't have any Canes bottoms or any apparel by non-Texas teams. Anyway, back to the game tonight. Dallas is currently in FIRST place in the Pacific Division. Third place in the Western Conference. And 11th overall in the league. Kickass. It's so close in points, though. Also, still early in the season and too early to be getting excited about that. They just need to keep winning and keep stacking the points on. Sounds like a good idea to me. GO STARS!

Moving on.

This made me chuckle....

I love the "Won't Mom be so proud?" bit at the end. Awesomeness.

I know I have some e-mails to tend to. If you're waiting on a reply from me for something or have e-mailed me recently, I'll get to it soon. I had a crazy busy weekend and this week is shaping up to be pretty damn busy, too. :) Which is great. I love being busy and having a lot to do.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a good weekend!

Happy Monday!

Pictures....

I think I look pretty snazzy in huge glasses with a very large nose and a decent looking mustache. Don't you? Probably not but that's cool, lol.

I like to do goofy things. Not for attention but to make people laugh. I don't care about getting the attention. My goal is to always make people around me smile or laugh or at least be mildly amused by my ridiculousness. I like my environment to stay fun, laid back and happy as much as possible. I like to help achieve that by acting... well, like I do. :D

Also, I realized I still had not posted any shots of my new hair style courtesy of (one of) my awesome best friends hooking me up with a cut and color from the comfort of my own home. So, here's a good little preview of what my hair looks like now.

For some "before" shots of what my hair was looking like color and length wise? Here for the length. Here and here for the color. My hair was quite a ways down my back. When Fangs cut it, he took a little more than 5 inches off of the longest layer. It feels so much lighter now. My hair was so long and heavy. In this summer heat and humidity? IT WAS KILLING ME. Lol. I'm also happy with the color. After I find out about my new job's policy about hair coloring, I might look into adding some color to it. :D Or, I might just leave it as is since I do like this color and there are some red tones through out it.

Moving on......

Thanks to everyone for all the comments on yesterday's post. I did appreciate all the advice on how to get some clothes.

When I talk about having mostly only guy friends, I'm seriously not joking. My two best female friends? One lives close to San Jose, CA and the other lives in Las Vegas. Those were both chicks I met when I lived and worked in CA. Here? I don't have any female friends I'm close with or that I even talk to or see on a regular basis. All of my friends that I'm close with and see a lot on a regular basis are guys. I do have a couple female friends but they're not close to the size I wear and I'm not good enough friends with any of them to borrow clothes from them if they were near my size.

Borrowing from family doesn't work either. My parents and siblings live in CA. I have aunts and a few female cousins but one aunt doesn't live at all close to me, the other doesn't live too far away but her clothes wouldn't fit anyway. I have two female cousins and I wouldn't be able to wear their clothes either. I also wouldn't even feel comfortable asking due to the fact that I'm not very close with either of them. I don't even have either of their cell phone numbers to be honest.

I really did appreciate all of the suggestions, though. Thank you! I love that people read my blog and want to offer me up advice when I'm in need of it. Y'all are awesome. And I totally have the information stored away in my mind now if I ever need to know these things again. You never know when things will come in handy. :D

I also didn't have enough money to go buy anything either. I had $11 in my checking account and that's literally all the money I had. I've sold a lot of stuff in the last few months. One to clear out some junk and two because it was money for groceries or other stuff I might have needed. I did have some other stuff I was going to attempt to sale but turns out, I won't need to be doing that. Thankfully. I don't honestly have much stuff as it is, lol. That comes from moving around a lot and wanting to keep everything down to a minimum so I didn't have much to pack and unpack but I digress.

No worries, though. I've got a couple wonderful people that have offered to help me out with some stuff and it'll be enough until I've got some money and can buy some stuff on my own. I'll wait for Monday to post more details on that, though. Mainly because I want to be able to include some pictures of some stuff and give all of the details so I can brag about how awesome some of the people in my life are and this thing has gotten long enough already. I'm totally excited for Monday. I've HATED not working. I started working when I was 13 doing whatever kind of odd stuff I could do to make money and got my first real job at 15 and have worked steadily since then. So not having a job has been killing me. Not having money sucks and makes living hard. Being at home most of the time ( drives me nuts) and not doing much fun and not seeing my friends has sucked. Mainly, though? I just really love to work and love how productive and happy I feel when I'm working. Not having that has been really bad for my mental and emotional well being and I've been far more unhappy, stressed and upset than I've let on. But anyway... like I said, this has gotten long enough already. ;)

Here's a music video. "If You Could Only See" by Tonic. This has been one of my favorite songs for many years.

Check out some other stuff I posted to Twitter via TwitPic. You know, if you want to. ;) There's a couple pictures of an awesome zebra striped hot pink pimp hat plus some other rad stuff.

I NEED SOME SECRETS for my Saturday posts. :D If you want to submit a secret for me to use tomorrow then just e-mail it to me: amorousrocker [at] gmail [dot] com. Or leave it as a comment here anonymously if you want to do it that way and I'll copy it and use it tomorrow.

And now, one last picture.... :)

Happy Friday!

Questions, rambling, lol...

In a perfect world, what 7 foods would you make completely healthy but they would still taste just as good as they do now?
Pizza, ice cream, fried chicken, cupcakes, spaghetti, waffles and Chipotle burritos.

If the Dallas Stars moved away to another state or city, would you still be loyal to them?
Yes but I'd be pissed. I'd be sad about not getting to go to Stars games any more, too. That would suck. Luckily the AAC and the Stars have an agreement that prevents the Stars from leaving Dallas.

If someone paid you one million tax free dollars, would you openly cheer against the Stars during a game while attending said game?
Uh... possibly. That's a lot of money and I'm broke as hell. And seriously, that's a lot of money. I'd probably agree to do it for the money and then forget about it, lol. Can I cheer against certain players on my team that I dislike instead? :D

Those 3 questions were posed to me by a reader. She asked if I would answer them on my blog instead of just replying to her e-mail. I said sure so there you are. :)

I love being able to see my blog stats and see some of the odd things people Google that some how put them on my blog. :D I wonder how disappointed they are sometimes when they find a boring blog that has nothing to do with their search, though. :)

One of my friends was going to attempt to burn me copies of her P90X DVDs and mail them to me. (She moved 7 hours away from Dallas so going over to them or do the work outs with her is not feasible.) Then she found out the burner she has doesn't burn DVDs. It also doesn't burn music either. Apparently spilling orange soda on electronics ruins them. Who would have thought that? :p (She spilled a soda on it a month ago, cleaned it off on the surface with a towel and assumed it would be fine. Aye.)

I don't get why people get free things and then complain about the quality of said items. You buy cheap stuff, you get a cheap product more often than not. Hence the whole 'you get what you pay for' thing. So, when people get free items and then bitch about them being poor quality or not up to their standards... duh? You want a better product, go buy the better product. Stores don't often give out expensive, well made stuff so if you're going somewhere because the first 200 people are getting someone free? Don't expect champagne when a bulk package of kool-aid mix is cheaper. They're using the free product to try and get you in to buy stuff. They know most people are just coming for the free stuff. They're not going to be out a lot of money on an expensive product when they won't make the profit back let alone break even. It's simple. Just sayin'.

The NHL Awards were last night. See, I watch award shows! At least that one, anyway. I just can't care about entertainment awards since I don't like most mainstream music or television and I hardly see movies and just don't care about pop culture in general. I digress. This was one of the funniest part of the show. The skit with the Anaheim Ducks players, even though I dislike the Ducks quite a lot as a general rule. This shit is funny as hell. Though, I can't guarantee a non-hockey fan will find it as funny. You never know, lol.

Bobby Ryan vs. Ryan Getzlaf.

Picture show! & other stuff...

My birthday is in 4 more days. :) Hooray for turning 25 and insurance rates lowering a few bucks. Lol.

I was on Twitter and decided there were a couple people I wanted to go unfollow because they just cause a bunch of drama and start petty bullshit. I enjoy their blog posts but following them on Twitter? Not so much. So I got started and ended up finding more people to unfollow. I had 5 in mind and ended up unfollowing 83 people, lol. I doubt most of them will notice and I don't particularly care one way or another. I'm just happy to clean my timeline up a little bit. :)

My hair has gotten so long! I usually keep it shoulder length or a bit shorter. It's several inches below my shoulders now. I like it but with this heat and the lack of air conditioning, it's driving me crazy and I'm thinking I'll take a pair of scissors to it sooner or later. Probably sooner. Just to trim a few inches off of it. Even though I trimmed a couple inches off just a couple weeks ago. This picture is after I trimmed it up. Click it to big it.

I was waiting for my job interview to start on Wednesday and noticed this sign hanging.

I just giggled and had to snap a picture of it and share. I love things that are suggestive without being necessarily dirty. I posted it to my Twitter account and was amused by how amused some people were by it. The sign was hanging above to hallway that leads back to the restrooms. Which amused me more.

Now to share some stuff I posted on my Tumblr, because there are some awesome pictures on there but not many people check it out. :) I didn't take these pictures. I just find them and post them. Unless I say otherwise, it's not my photography on there. Just stuff I like or like the looks of. ;)

Ducks are one of my favorite animals. Th
is Mandarin duck is SO FUCKING PRETTY.

This one is from a beach in California. I love the beach and the ocean. I found this picture particularly striking but I'm not sure why.

Next? The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday night to win the Stanley Cup. They're the champions this year so congratulations to them. This picture? Some celebrating going on with Toews and Kane.

And since I posted some hockey players, I'll finish the picture show with a picture of the design of a t-shirt I so want. I hope this store still has these for a long time because once I am working again and have the money to spend, I want to buy this shirt.

There are some awesome hockey related shirts on this website. I posted more of the designs I really liked on my Tumblr. Actually, I want so many of them but that one? One of my favorites. LOL xD

Happy Friday!

This and that...

If you haven't, you definitely should go check out the video for the winner of the sex toy contest that I posted yesterday. ;)

I got an invite to a Facebook group that was actually cool. Usually, my friends invite me to things I pass on. "Mustache Ride Monday", "If you hate getting food stuck in your teeth" and other nonsense stuff. Granted, I joined a few that are nonsense to most people but I don't invite anyone to them. I got a good one yesterday. "Make It Illegal to Protest at Military Funerals" is of course, a group created because of a certain group of people whose name I won't even mention. Most of y'all should know who I'm talking about. What other group of people protests funerals besides the one that won't be named? Douches.

If you don't follow me on Twitter, you're missing out. ;) So, I'm going to post a little of the random, pointless crap I tweet about right now.

AshlyStar: My tip for today: Socks go on before the shoes. Don't try it shoes first, it will not end well. You're welcome.

AshlyStar: Too bad people don't have a mute button

AshlyStar: Why are there no robots to roll around doing my laundry for me? The Jetsons were so misleading about the future.

I posted this to my Tumblr yesterday.

Click the picture to go to my Tumblr and see the bigger version of it. The angle that this photograph was taken at? Fucking awesome. Not to mention I watched the game and know the action that was going on the moment this got snapped. The player positioning and the angle just rock. Too bad that one Shark that I *really* can't fucking stand (more so than the others, lol) is in it but oh well. Still a kick ass photograph.

Law Abiding Citizen and The Blind Side (especially the The Blind Side) are two of the best movies I've seen recently. L.A.C. just because I didn't figure out everything and have the plot and ending figured out before the movie was over. I hate that. The Blind Side is just heartwarming and amazing. And a damn good movie for anyone who wants to blame the world around them for why they can't succeed as well as someone else. It's touching and quite good.

Happy Tuesday!

Y'all need to know these things...

I had a couple serious posts I wanted to get done. One was on bisexuality. One was on irresponsible people. One was on why people who drink and drive piss me the fuck off so badly. I couldn't focus enough to get anything with a lot of substance written. No, this has nothing to do with the fact that it's 420 because this chick doesn't smoke weed anymore, thanks. I just have a lot going on right now so focusing is difficult. Unless it's me watching some hockey, I focus on that just fine. Sports are easier to focus on, though. Articulating thoughts into words in a coherent way that makes sense and gets my point across takes effort at times. So, I give you something fun and random for today. Hit it! ;)

Hi, my name is: Ashly.

Never in my life have I been: high on heroin, sky diving, stuck in an elevator (thank you! *knocks on wood*), punched in the cheek, had chili thrown in my face, gargled with Tabasco sauce, been kicked in the cunt or been bitten by a rabbit.

The one person who can drive me nuts better than anyone else is: my boyfriend.

When I’m nervous: I bite/chew on the insides of my cheeks.

The last song I listened to was: "I Miss You" by Incubus.

If I were to get married right now my best man/maid of honor: This is going to be difficult for me as all of my best friends are guys, lol. I hope SS could do it if she makes it to my wedding but given she lives 2,200 miles away I'd forgive her for missing it. Fangs offered though, he even said he'd wear a dress. His boyfriend thought that was cute given he'd be the one more likely to dress feminine. I digress...

Last Christmas: was the first Christmas I spent without my family and honestly, it kind of sucked.

I should be..: practicing my ninja moves.

When I look down I see: boobs.

If I were a character on ‘Friends’ I’d be: No clue, don't think I'd want to be anyone on there honestly, lol.

By this time next year: life will be better.

My current gripe is: underwear goes on inside the pants.

I have a hard time understanding: people who walk up to me and start asking me questions in a language I don't know.

There’s this girl I know that: needs to stop being such a self-destructive, self-absorbed, arrogant, whiny, shallow, stuck up tool.

I like you when: my boyfriend gives me a shoulder massage, the Stars win, I get to lay in bed and listen to the sound of a thunderstorm, my shoes stay tied while I'm walking down stairs and when the right song comes on just at the right moment.

If I won an award, the first person I would tell would be: my boyfriend.

Take my advice: do not walk passed a lion wearing a costume made out of raw steak haphazardly strung together. They will think you are a tasty treat, wrapped in raw meat.

The thing I want to buy: is a new laptop since mine isn't doing so well right now.

If you visited the place I was born: I bet I would be in a hospital. Or your mom's vagina. Please let it be the hospital... unless your mom is hot.

I plan to visit: the shower quiet soon.

If you spent the night at my house: I would probably drive you crazy because I'm such a spaz.

I’d stop my wedding if: someone broke out a beer bong during there ceremony and started doing the fox trot with an invisible dancer partner while trying to chug.

The world could do without: closed minds.

I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: eat someone's intestines.

Most recent thing I’ve bought myself: is deodorant to keep my pits from smelling foul.

Most recent thing someone else bought me: is food to go inside my belly and... well hey, you know the rest.

My favorite blond is: my friend SS because she's pretty much amazing.

My favorite brunette is: my boyfriend.

My favorite red head is: ....my dad! He's the only real red head I know. Sorry to my bottled red friends, lol. Ooh or maybe a hockey player. Bound to be one I like that's got natural red hair, lol.

My middle name is: none of your damn business.

In the morning I: jump out of the bed and do the half asleep stumbling partly running partly trying not to run into the walls routine while I try to get to the bathroom as quick as possible.

The animals I would like to see flying besides birds are: tigers, iguanas, zebras. Also, pigs because then a lot of really weird and crazy shit would start going down.

Once, at a bar: I burped so loud, people around me didn't hear the lyrics to the song that was on for a few seconds. It was epic.

Last night I was: passing out early because I felt like shit but had to get up early.

There’s this guy I know who: walks into walls constantly, on purpose.

If I was an animal I’d be: a penguin or a tiger. OR A TIGUIN.

A better name for me would be: Ashly is fine.

Tomorrow I am: going to walk all over the fucking world. Or maybe just my local area. ;)

Tonight I am: going to watch some motherfucking playoff hockey baby! And get some writing, cleaning, laundry and some other stuff done too.

My birthday is: June 15th. Less than 2 months away. Who wants to buy me presents? Bwa ha ha.

The end.

Happy Tuesday!

Comments for me? :)

Um, pardon me Officer but...

First.... I was totally bummed out about something yesterday. One of my favorite bands is Type O Negative. They're one of the few bands I really dig that I haven't got to see play live yet. Now, totally won't happen because the band's frontman Peter Steele passed away yesterday. I don't usually get sad when celebrities die because usually it's not someone I'm a fan of. I know that sounds cold but it's the truth. I find death sad but dozens of people die every day, it's no more sad just because one of them was in a dozen movies. Once in a while though, I get why people are sad when a celebrity they like dies. Type O's music resonated with me in a lot of ways. I got through some hard shit blasting their tunes and getting lost in the lyrics that I understood quite well. It's sad he's gone but hey, maybe he's in a better place now. You can read the official statement here if you want to.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I get A LOT of questions on my formspring account. I answered 20 something yesterday and I still have some sitting in my inbox waiting for an answer. So you know, if you didn't see your question answered, it's probably still there waiting on me to answer it. ;) I usually get 5 - 10 or more a day and I tend to not feel like answering them a lot, so they build up. I get a lot of questions I delete too. Some people are just rude and disrespectful. Some people say catty, pathetic things anonymously that they don't have the nerve to say to me otherwise. I love how some people get the biggest balls when they're able to hide behind anonymity. Other questions I delete are ones that I find to be "too much" in sexual nature. As open as I generally am, even where sex is concerned, you can use your imagination to try and think up some of the things I must be getting asked if I deem them "too much" and delete them. I guess that falls under getting big balls under the anonymity as well. I went off on a bit of a tangent here and none of this has to do with the real point of my post, lol.

I get a lot of questions. Despite the bad ones and the tasteless comments that get left, I still get a lot of questions I do leave to answer. A lot of them are random and what a lot of people would call "useless information" to be honest. Sometimes, I wonder why someone would want to know what I had for dinner tonight but hey, it's whatever. You ask and I'm very likely going to answer. I get a lot of really good ones too.

Yesterday, I had someone ask me a question and it spawned one of my absolute favorite stories to tell. I don't think I've ever told it on my blog. At the time it happened, I was 18 and while I did have this blog; I was more into drinking, partying and drugs and wasn't updating very often at all. I pretty much updated when I went to my parents house and used their computer to do so because we didn't have internet at the apartment my roommates and I shared. We could have had internet but you know, booze, drugs and general partying were more important than the interwebz. And blogging. I only have a couple people (as far as I know) that still read me that did way back then. So cool to those people. Anyway, check out the question and enjoy the answer I gave. It was fun re-telling it. =)

do you have any funny stories that involve you and the police?

YES! OH MY GOSH. This is probably my favorite story to tell even though it happened like 6 years ago, lol.

So I was living in South Texas, real close to South Padre. A bunch of friends and I had gone to the beach because there was a big bonfire party going on out there. Everyone was drinking and having a good time. There were 2 kegs and cases upon cases of beer as well as some other stuff. There were about 50 people there and it was a great time.

I was the designated driver for the night so when the party was winding down in the wee hours of the morning, we decided to leave and start heading back off the island.

One of my best friends at the time (RIP honey) was soo hammered. I was driving my car at the time (a Ford Focus) and had 4 drunk guys packed into it with me, lol. Now my super hammered friend tells me while I'm on the highway, maybe 15 minutes from his house, that he has to puke. I'm like, fuck that, there's a gas station up here soon, I'll get you there. So, it's late as hell (or early as hell, lol) and the highway is mostly empty. So I punch it to do 80 to get to the gas station. I failed to see a cop on the shoulder but he didn't miss me and pulled me over. I cringed, told my friend he better not fucking puke in my car and waited for the cop to get to the window.

He asked me where I was in such a "damn rush" to get to. I told him my friend (who was thankfully of age to be a lush, lol) had drank too much and was going to throw up so I had been in a rush to get to the gas station. The one that I was so close to. Literally, we were maybe 50 feet from the exit. It was like 60 seconds away. Damn, him. I digress. He wanted to check my ID, asked if I had been drinking. I said no. He wanted everyone else to present their ID's because they were all drunk. They were all 21 at least so no big deal. Then, my best buddy says "I'm about to fucking puke, I'm going to get out of the car and puke!"

The cops tells my buddy to remain in the vehicle. My buddy is not going to puke in the car, so he exited the vehicle. The cop stalked quickly around the vehicle telling my friend to get back in the car. The cop grabbed my friend, shook him lightly and asked if he had anything (weapons or drugs) on him. My friend said no and said he really was about to puke and that's all he was out of the car for. The cop, still holding on to him, began to say, "I don't give two shits...." and then my friend started hurling. ALL OVER THE COP. After a few seconds, the cop let him go and let him finish puking. The cop had puke on his arms, pants legs and shoes.

My friends in the car were all so scared we were all going to get in trouble and I was trying not to laugh, honestly.

The cop walked back around to the drivers side to me and very calmly told me to get my friend home and to watch my speeding. He handed me a warning but no ticket and then walked back to his car.

Happy Friday!

Stars & Gunslingers...

The Stars play the Blackhawks tonight. Hopefully it's a good game. The Stars have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention but meh, whatever. I still hope they win their remaining three games. That's enough hockey for the moment.

Now for something I got in an email. I think from my dad. Anyway, here's the joke.

An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio , Texas leading an old tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to clear his parched throat. He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, "Hey old man, have you ever danced?" The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, "No, I never did dance... never really wanted to."

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, "Well, you old fool, you're gonna' dance now," and started shooting at the old man's feet. The old prospector, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air.

The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.
The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?"

The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, "No sir..... but... I've always wanted to."

There are a few lessons for us all here:

Never be arrogant.

Don't waste ammunition.

Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.

Always, always make sure you know who has the power

Don't mess with old men, they didn't get old by being stupid.

I just love a story with a happy ending, don't you?

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Hockey & TFLN

The Stars played the Edmonton Oilers last night. By the end of the first period, Stars were leading 3-0. Then the second period, Dallas apparently didn't think Edmonton had any fight in them because the Oilers came back out and scored 3 on Dallas to tie the game up 3-3. Then the third period started, the Stars remembered they should try winning, scored 3 more goals and won the game 6-3. Not only is Edmonton in last place in the Western Conference, they're in last place in the entire league. Out of 30 teams, they're in 30th with a whopping 55 points. Toronto Maple Leafs are 29th and they have 71 points. I would have been bummed the fuck out if my Stars had lost to Edmonton. No offense to any Oilers fans that may lurk around here but seriously... =) On an upside, Mike Modano (who has been my favorite player since I was 9 years old and started watching hockey) was back on the ice last night after missing 9 games due to an appendectomy. He had 2 assists in the game putting him at 801 career assists. I'm so going to miss seeing him play after he retires. It'll be weird to watch a Stars game without seeing him out there, lol.

The Stars play again tonight against St. Louis. And and and... the game will be on network TV so I'll get to watch it on the television instead of watching it on my laptop via a semi-decent live game feed online. Not that I mind watching online because hey, it works and I don't have to miss the majority of the Stars games but watching on a bigger screen with a more clear picture is always better. Hooray. =)

Okay moving on from the sports stuff...

These are not text messages from me or my friends. They're texts off the website Texts From Last Night. I was bored yesterday, decided to browse that website and pull off some of the ones that made me chuckle then compile them into a blog post. I wasn't bored enough to do it for very long, though, lol.

(214): new hobby: convincing random sorority girls around campus that we hooked up last weekend. i'm 2 for 5. (note: this is one of the most amusing ones that I've seen from a Dallas area code, lol.)

(518): you left a note on your car that said " please dont tow, im to drunk to drive. safety first!"

(225): Tortellini makes me feel like I'm eating hundreds of little vaginas

(614): halfway through eating me out he goes 'oh that reminds me i have to buy fish for good friday'

(314): I wouldn't really call it 'getting lucky' considering I paid her to do it.

(636): A horse told me not to drive home last night. I think there was a cop on top of it.

(760): She used my dick as a microphone to sing "any way you want it" I'm in love.

(814): dude stop sending me pictures of your dick in weird places. i get it. you rock out with your cock out.

(605): I walked outside out to find her peeing in her toga with a cigar in one hand and her thong in the other

(313): Eric and I got kicked off of karaoke last night. Apparently, singing about masturbation to the tune of "A Whole New World" is not appropriate and definitely frowned upon by the DJ.

(256): Ricky Martin is gay. You owe me $10 from 3rd grade.

(260): Girl farted next to me in class and then denied my high five

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Relax while you're closing your eyes to me...

I'm copying something off of my formspring account to post today. I don't know who asks me the "this or that" questions or the "list one favorite thing" questions but I love them! They are so fun to do. Got something you want to ask me? Hit that link and ask. You can even ask anonymously. Make sure you check back on formspring for answers if you go ask something! ;)

On with the question.

Question: ONLY LIST ONE FOR EACH! *Favorites* Restaurant, actor, store, blogger, tv show, author, lipstick color, chipmunk (from Alvin and the..), martini, cartoon, magazine, bar, cough drop, hockey player, nail polish color, beer, cookie type, peanut butter brand.

Moving on!

I got these earrings for $9.50 and then never wore them because I decided I didn't really like them. I had meant to take them back but I rarely go to the mall so I just never got around to it. If anyone wants these, email me. amorousrocker [at] gmail [dot] com =) Don't worry, I don't expect $9.50 for them, lol. Click the image to make it bigger if you want.

The Stars play the San Jose Sharks tonight, in SJ. IT should be a good game to watch and hopefully the Stars get the win. We're in 10th place and not out of playoff contention yet but in all seriousness, it's just extremely unlikely. The Stars need to win the rest of their games and several teams need to start doing a lot of losing. *Sigh*

On Wednesday morning, I woke up with the dream I had fresh on my mind. I had a dream about grocery shopping in a super fancy store. I was also doing surgeries in the bakery with the cast of Family Guy... before revealing I was a CIA agent who was just guessing about what I was doing during these surgeries. Then I robbed the soda machine outside with my mind before I ran off to an island where I filmed a horror film. Also, the cast in the movie consisted of random NHL players, the Family Guy cast, Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, my boyfriend, a few of my friends, the shark from Jaws with human legs & a huge killer walrus that had a British accent when he talked. Of course, this is the short version of the dream but it gives you the general gist of it. And no, I didn't eat anything weird, drink any booze, watching anything weird or do anything at all that would have prompted such a strange dream. That's normal for me and my dreams are usually strange and random. I also have the awesome ability to remember them in pretty good detail most of the time. I have the best dreams ever.

Happy Thursday!

Like a fool I thought I could fight the shadows on my own...

The Stars play tonight! We're playing against San Jose. I dislike the Sharks. They're a great team, in regulation. Once playoffs hit, they choke. Though, at least they'll make playoffs this year. With the Stars, that's a long shot and it's not looking good or realistic at all. Dallas really needs to find some heart and get a win tonight.... and every other night they have a game for the duration of the season, lol.

Seriously can't believe I offended people in yesterday's post. At first, it was one person. Then it was three. I'm pretty sure the second two are friends of the first person though. Still, get a grip people.

And if you read nothing else in yesterday's post, you should have read our friends story about why he's terrified of turkeys. I'm still chuckling over that shit today, lol.

Several (8 or 9 now?) people have e-mailed me either asking me why I took away commenting or telling me they can't figure out how. The comments are at the top of each blog post now. You'll see the post title and then under that, you'll see all the info (name, date, tags, etc) that used to be at the end of a post. Then you'll see the bit for comments. Which is inside the red oval I have on display in this picture. So, for anyone having trouble figuring out how to comment... now you know. ;)

And now because I have nothing else in particular I want to say.... I'll post 25 random facts about yours truly. Enjoy.

1.) I love wearing hats. I have tons of caps with sports logos on them as well as several knit beanies, random caps and plenty of other styles.

2.) I only have 3 pairs of shoes.

3.) I love cheese. So many different kinds.

4.) I love trying to capture lightning on film.

5.) I love walking in the rain.

6.) Gloomy weather makes me feel peaceful.

7.) I love almost any kind of fruit.

8.) I hate being late. I always like to be on time if not early by a few minutes at the least. I don't mind if other people are a few minutes late unless them running behind is going to make me late; then it pisses me off.

9.) I love the smell of gasoline.

10.) I have a bad temper.

11.) I have trouble putting a good book down once I get really into the story. I'll say I'll stop after this chapter and five chapters later, I'm still reading. I've gone through books from front to back in hours because of this.

12.) I get annoyed when people talk about how broke they are and how they don't have money to do x,y,z so people will feel sorry for them yet they turn around and talk about going out to eat, buying this one thing, etc.

13.) I read a lot of things other than fiction novels. Medical, historical and tons of other things. I love to learn new things and I try to learn something new every single day. Not for any reason other than I enjoy it.

14.) I'm quite a bit more intelligent than most people think I am....

15.) ....I use that to my advantage quite often.

16.) Weapons fascinate me. Swords, daggers and throwing stars are three of my favorite types.

17.) I find some cemeteries beautiful.

18.) I miss playing hockey. It was one of the funnest things I ever did.

19.) I love grocery shopping. Almost as much as Best Buy shopping. Clothes shopping, shoe shopping and any other kind of shopping? No thank you.

20.) I always get apprehensive the first time I go see a band I like a lot playing live. I am always afraid they will suck live and to me, that ruins it. I can't listen to a band when I know they're digitally mastered to perfection but sound like utter shit live.

21.) My boyfriend's jealous that I burp louder than he does.

22.) Opeth's music is so calming yet sometimes it calms and saddens me. Sometimes it makes me feel calm yet pumps me up. The lead singer's voice is absolutely beautiful and I melt listening to him sing.

23.) I love Gatorade and drink it on a fairly regular basis. I'd rather have Gatorade over most other drinks.

24.) My favorite thing to do in car maintenance is an oil change. I think it's fun and I love the smell of motor oil plus the satisfaction of doing something productive with my hands.

25.) I always look at deserted buildings and try to imagine what kind of things and people were there when it was still live and bustling. A town my mom used to live in had an abandoned outdoor theater in it. It was old, hadn't been in use in forever, crumbling and ruined. That place was so alive with energy. It was beautiful, creepy and wonderful all at once. I wish I had pictures of it to post on here.

How do people think up 100 random things to share? I think being so open on my blog makes these things difficult, lol. There isn't a lot I don't share. Plus the fact that I've been blogging for so long makes it difficult too. I did see someone who has 6 different "100 Things About....." on their blog though. Good for you buddy, you know who you are. I can't imagine how you thought up that many random facts and managed not to repeat a single thing. Kudos!

Happy Tuesday!

Stars, cars, turkeys, etc...

Yesterday was a busy day. The Boyfriend and I watched the Stars game. Which started out well but didn't end well. That's all I'm saying. Bummer. Seriously. It looked like... never mind. *SIGH*

After that, we had to go to the Boyfriend's favorite "geek" store because some parts of his computer died and he needed to replace something. Boyfriend built his own computer so yeah, dude knows what he's doing and also gets major lust eyes when he's in said store. He sees computer parts, cases and tons of other shit I have no clue about and stands there drooling and coveting over these parts. It's kind of like the way I stand there and covet the bad ass car cruising by me (which happened later when I saw a Bugatti Veyron and almost had a fucking orgasm at the sight of it. OMG) when I see one of my dream cars cruising by me. Which is cute as hell because he doesn't get all lusty eyed and tongue wagging over much at all. It's cars and computer parts that do that with him. That computer parts get him all googly eyed? I think that's cute. I love my computer nerd.

After that, we drove out to his car club meeting. Some sexy muscle cars and some not so sexy muscle cars take up a row and then some in the parking lot of the place they do it at. Mostly, they're all freshly washed and shiny as fuck from wax. We hang out and we chat with people in the car club. I'll admit, I like a small handful of the people in his car club and mostly they're the ones that he is friends with and hangs out with outside of car club events. The rest of them? Some are okay. A lot of them are tools.

One of Boyfriend's buddies from the car club introduced us to his new girlfriend. I smiled and politely said hello to her once he introduced us. She looked at me, said absolutely nothing, didn't even smile at me. Then, she turned away from me and & started talking to the Boyfriend. I just chuckled. Stuff like that from chicks doesn't piss me off, honestly. It's a catty, rude, total bitch move. I have no idea why she chose to act like that, maybe she's insecure and doesn't like other girls. Maybe she didn't like the way I looked. Especially when I'm standing there with my boyfriend which means I clearly have no interest in a friend of my boyfriend's anyway. I think it ticked her off more that I chuckled at her behavior and continued to smile at her as she glared at me for no real reason. Whatever, I have no clue and I don't understand why people act like that. Aside from it being rude and petty, it's also plain stupid and downright fucking silly.

After that, it was off to a friends house. They were grilling burgers and going to hang out. Free food and good company? Yes please.

Once we got to their house, everyone stood around talking cars for a while outside. Which was fun, as always. They are all car guys and were talking about various different things they want done next to their cars, things they wouldn't do, etc. I get amused by how excited Boyfriend's buddy D always gets when talking about his car. He looks like a kid on Christmas morning.

After the car talk, we got into sports a little bit. Mostly it was Stars talk. Which I never mind. =) I'm always down for talking about hockey. Or football, baseball, basketball or a few other sports.

Then after that, it was music talk. K was telling us how awesome a couple of recent shows we missed were. Which sucks because two of them weren't announced and we didn't know about until it was too late. We wouldn't have had the money to go anyway but given what K does for a job, we wouldn't have needed money anyway because he would have gotten us in for free. He kind of fucking rocks like that. He is the reason I got front row on the rail at the Incubus concert last year instead of sitting way the fuck in the back, on the amphitheater lawn where I had tickets at. He is all kinds of bad ass like that.

This is why I love hanging out with guys. Talking about cars, sports and metal is fucking awesome because those are three of my absolute favorite things and things that I know quite a lot about. I never feel out of place like I do most of the time around groups of females. (And yes, I am fully aware
not all guys like these things. I have plenty of male friends who don't know cars or who don't care about sports or who prefer to listen to country or jazz. Blah blah blah. There are always exceptions to each and every rule.) Most girls I know don't know much about sports and don't care to know either. And even more don't know much beyond basics about cars and don't care to know more either. While there are chicks like me, D's wife and other women I know that love sports and cars (and plenty that I don't know that are out there) who know and understand a lot about both topics; there are more that don't know, understand or care and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It can sound sexist all fucking day and honestly I don't care because it's true.

Anyway... D and D's Wife are awesome hosts. They grilled burgers and hot dogs and had plenty of stuff to munch on and drink. They just recently moved into their house after getting married late last year. They've got a nice little house and enjoy having people over. Usually it's D, D's Wife, The Boyfriend, myself and a bunch of guys. Fun times usually because most of the people they invite over are people we all mutually know one way or another and they're all pretty chill and laid back. Plus, their puppies are fucking adorable and so well behaved. They tell them to go out of the room, they go. Go outside, they go. Go lay down, they go.

While hanging out, one of the guys admitted he was afraid of turkeys. This came about while he was talking about his fear of horses and how he would rather ride a camel over going horseback riding or riding a horse anywhere in general. Which stemmed from seeing a show about horse racing on television. I digress. We wanted to know why he was scared of turkeys. So, he being the cool guy he is, very willingly explained his turkey phobia.

"I got attacked by a turkey when I was 5. I liked to chase chickens and they don't do anything but run when you chase them. I never hurt them, just ran around with them. Then, one day, I saw the turkey and was thinking MAN THAT'S A BIG BIRD! So I went to chase it and yeah that backfired. It was mean. The turkey started to chase me. It was flapping around all crazy and making all kinds of crazy fucked up noises. Scariest moment of my life. I enjoy Thanksgiving so much, I show the turkeys who's boss now."

It might not be that funny in text but if you had heard him tell it, seeing his hand gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice and all that jazz... you would have been rolling with laughter like all of us were. It was fucking hilarious.

Now, it's late as hell. Boyfriend is working on his computer still and I'm finishing this post up, watching the end of Law Abiding Citizen and about to pass the fuck out. I seriously hope this post goes up when it's supposed to. I've been having trouble with things that are set up to post not posting on time or at all lately.

Happy Monday!

Like memories of dying days...

Last night was the first meet up between Team USA and Team Canada for the Olympics AND USA WON 5-3! Kessler's empty net goal to close the deal and put USA up by 2 with less than a minute left in the game was amazing. We don't have cable or satellite but luckily, we found a sports bar that was showing the game. And even had the audio for the game on! I'd say a little less than half the bar was watching hockey. There was a poker tournament going on that was getting more attention. I don't care though, I love hockey. And yes, NBC's lame coverage annoys me too. I hate that people say, "No one cares about hockey." Fine, you don't care about it, I don't care. A vast majority of the United States doesn't care about it? fine, I don't care. No one likes hockey? Tell that to the millions of hockey fans all over the US alone that look forward to watching their favorite teams in not just the NHL, but the AHL and other leagues as well. Tell that to the millions of people who buy tickets, get season tickets and look forward to going to see a game played live. Hell, I look forward to just getting to watch a game. I get it though. Hockey isn't wildly popular in America. I live in Texas, seriously, I get that it's not as popular as the NFL, NBA or MLB. I also have a ton of friends and plenty of family members who couldn't care less about hockey, never watch a game, don't understand it, don't care to understand it, etc. Blah blah blah. Just because it's not wildly popular doesn't mean that "no one here likes hockey" because yeah, that's bullshit. Drive down to Victory Avenue in Dallas on a night when the Stars are playing and tell the people who are decked out in jerseys and team t-shirts that they're only fooling themselves because really, deep down, none of them really like hockey. Don't say that "absolutely no one likes XYZ" because no matter what it is, somewhere, there are people who will like and enjoy whatever you're claiming no one likes. (Warning. Something I find gross is about to be said. You may even find it crude, graphic and down right vomit inducing. Don't say I didn't warn you if you end up throwing up in your mouth a little bit. If you wanna skip it, just move down to the next paragraph.) Even if it's fucking someone in the ass, ejaculating inside of them and then using a baby spoon to remove the sperm from said ass only to feed it to the person you came in or eat it yourself. Yes, that's disgusting. I used that as an example because I have a friend who used to do that with an ex-girlfriend. My point is, don't say "no one is into this so...." because no matter what it is, there are people out there who dig it.

No one need take that as a personal attack by the way. I'm directing that more at articles and a few obnoxious people. The obnoxious people in question know I'm talking about them because we've had our "discussions" on it already. So, if I didn't discuss this with you already, don't feel like it's aimed at you or anything. Unless you want to, then whatever. =p

The always helpful, wonderful, Osbasso fixed my layout for me. Thanks, Os! The side columns were not wide enough and stuff was cut off because of that. That problem doesn't exist anymore. How does it look? I'm still on the hunt for a template that screams out at me. So you know, if you know any websites for templates for blogger that are free, let me know. =) Please & thank you. The address to my blog along with the name I blog under is probably going to change next week. So, get ready, bwahaha. You'll just have to change your links in your blogrolls, bookmarks, etc though. You'll get automatically redirected if you try to come to this address.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR JESSICA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! - While I don't have permission to post the link to Jessica's livejournal, I did have permission to wish her a happy birthday as long as I didn't post the address of her sacred space. ;) Happy 21st Birthday, girlie! Hope you have a good one!

Y'all know I do the Twitter thing. I also do the formspring thing, once in a while. I thought it was goofy. I was super bored one night so I gave it a shot. It was fun. I do it irregularly now. Saturday night, I got some good/interesting questions. So, I'm going to post them here. You can anonymously ask questions & the few I'm posting today were all asked anonymously. Enjoy!

Everyone asks about positives, what about negatives? Thing you won't eat? Place you never want to visit? Person you never care to meet? Sex act you say "no" to? Music you won't listen to? Team you never want to win Stanley Cup?

Oh! I love this one! No clue who asked this but thank you. =)

Mountain Oysters. If you don't know what that is some how, look it up. =)

Russia. I have nothing against it, just not somewhere that I'd want to visit.

That's a long list, lol. Most famous people honestly. Celebrities don't interest me much.

Anything involving shit, piss, vomit or animals.

There isn't much I won't listen to. I can't stand most of the pop crap that comes on the radio though. Lady GaGa, Beyonce, etc. I also really can't stand most rap.

Haha. I wouldn't say I never want a team to win it because those guys all play their asses off and work really damn hard for it. I'd never deny someone an achievement they worked hard to get. I'll admit I wouldn't be happy about the Sharks, Capitals, Flames, Ducks, Devils or Flyers winning it though since those are the 6 teams I dislike most. Though, each of those teams has at least one player on there that I like but that's not enough to make me smile if they won the Stanley Cup. ;)

Is it healthy to be in a relationship when you can't get along with in-laws?

You're not in a relationship with your in-laws. You and the person you're with is the more important relationship. You won't like everyone, you won't get along with everyone and that applies to in-laws and your SO's family in my opinion. Granted, not getting along with your SO's family makes it a bit more difficult if your SO has a decent relationship with their family.

Is there a odor that makes you instantly sick?

Cabbage cooking. The smell makes my stomach churn instantly & blech.

What would the founding fathers think of the USA today, if brought back to life in 2010?

I have no idea. As far as I know, I'm not any of the founding fathers reincarnated so I wouldn't begin to speculate about the disappointment or joy they get from the current progression of things.

WHICH IS BETTER: chicken or beef? apples or oranges? sex or chocolate? hockey or football? massage or lots of kissing? the icing or the cake? starbucks or dutch bros? google or bing? one tree hill or gossip girl? american idol or so u think u can dance?

Chicken. Hands now.

Apples. Don't like oranges.

Sex. I'm not a fan of chocolate.

HOCKEY. Duh.

Massage. Then lots of kissing after.

The cake. Not a big fan of icing.

Starbucks. Dutch Bros. sucks IMO. Not at all sad we don't have them in Texas.

Google.

House.

House.

Happy Monday!
