Saturday Survey

Do people ever mistake you for being a different race?
Lol, I used to know a guy who thought I was half Asian. Which I do NOT understand, lol.

Do you have any baby pictures of yourself hanging in your house?
Uhhh no, lol. Those are in boxes and photo albums.

What is the last thing received in the mail?
Bank statement and a letter from a finance company.

How did you sleep last Thursday night?
Meh. I haven't been sleeping well lately.

It's Saturday night at 1 AM, a strange noise outside your window startles you awake, what do you do?
Nothing. I'm at work every Saturday night at 1 AM. No way would I be home sleeping then, lol.

If your doctor told you today that you were 3 months pregnant, what would you say?
I'd say bullshit and tell that doctor to stop doing drugs on the job.

Which one of your friends do you think would make the best doctor?
Uhhh.... Lol. No clue.

What is your most favorite scar and how did you get it?
The one above my left knee. A blade.

When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?
"Wow, I look like crap today." I didn't sleep well. I looked rough to say the least.

Would you rather have a strict professor who taught a lot or a fun professor who didn't teach much at all?
I'd rather have the strict one. I'm sure that would get on my nerves and I'd bitch about what a dick/whore the professor was on my own time. I'd rather have someone who was actually doing their job though. If I'm paying to get the fancy big education, I want the one who's going to give me the most for my money, lol.

Pick a person you dislike a lot. Who are they and what is something about them that is actually good?
My friend Modesto's sister. She has great teeth and nice hair.

If you could be invisible, what's the first thing you'd do?
Spy on people. ;) Oooh! Mess with people! Oh my gosh. I'd go to work when people I didn't like were on and fuck with them so bad. Moving shit around on them. Poking them and tickling them when no one else is around. Throwing stuff in their general direction. Oh man... hahahaha. Good thing that won't ever happen because I would be terrible.

Have you ever purposely messed up someone elses relationship?
I don't think so. I remember quite a few that the thought crossed my mind though but I never did because wow the karma on that would SUCK. The only ones I ever mess up are my own, lol.

Do your parents like your current significant other?
Sure.

Would you eat 20 live spiders to meet your favorite celebrity?
Nope.

If you could change one thing about yourself physically, what would it be?
My mouth. My nose. My forehead. My chin. Lots of shit, lol. So to pick one, I'd write them all down on little slips of paper, put them in a hat, mix them up, randomly draw three and pick the one of three that I most wanted to change.

What do your friends like most about you?
Different friends like different things the most. ;)

If you got too much change in a store, would you tell them?
Usually I do yeah. Unless I don't notice until later.

If you could read one person's mind forever and only read it whenever you wanted to, who would you pick?
Probably my boyfriend and only when we're fighting.

Did you lose your virginity in a bed?
Nope.

What reality television shows do you watch?
None.

Are you dating the last person you kissed?
No, lol.

If your significant other asked you to marry them today what would you say?
Oooh... he might read this so I'll say that I would say yes. =D Kidding. Realistically, our life and financial situation doesn't make that a good thing to worry about right now. If we're still together in a few years (hopefully we will be) and he asks then, I'll totally say yes. Our financial situation may still suck but by then we'll be back to living together and what not. And no I'm not going to freak him out by saying that. He already thinks he wants to marry me one of these days, lol.

Are you growing apart from someone right now?
Kind of.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hot are you?
I'd say about a 1.5 or a 2. It's a little chilly in here so I'm not really hot at all. ;)

Do you hate thunderstorms?
No! I love them.

Out of all the females you know, who has the biggest non-fake boobs?
Me, lol.

What brand of shampoo and conditioner do you use?
Infusium 23.

Your parents tell you they're going to split up, how would you react?
It's whatever. That would be their decision and it'd be selfish of me to want them to stay together for my own benefit if they were that unhappy together. Of course, I don't think I have to worry about this anyway, lol.

Happy Saturday!!!

Just turn the page and watch me grow.

I bet you're wondering. Contemplating. Trying to figure out a move to make. Coming here, looking for an answer or two. A morsel, a crumb. A lead. A line. Something to give you something to work from. Looking for information. Looking, searching and hoping to see something that helps you. Sneaky? I'm not sure that's the word but really, I'm not sure what the word I'm looking for is. There are better ways. I won't give you anything here. I said it once already, when you come here for research, you'll come up empty. I know you're looking, trying, reaching and wondering. Your moves are always so carefully considered but don't you know, it's the unknown that's easier at times. I do appreciate your efforts. Whatever you're looking for though, well, you won't find it here.

I was texting with a friend on Thursday while I was at work. He was feeling down about what he was putting together for his mom's birthday present. Her birthday is today. He went in to a candy store in the mall gather supplies to make a gift basket. A few of her favorite candies from there and then over to another store to pick up a small variety of chocolate truffles. Add in a giftcard for Starbucks and a cute little teddy bear holding two tickets for her and a guest to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and it was done. That is everything he got and he was thinking the gift basket was a lame idea and wasn't sure he put enough stuff in there. I assured him that he did just dandy and his mama was going to love it. Of course I might be biased there. He had not known what to get her and some of the things he knew she had on her wishlist were more than he could afford. So I suggested he might just pick up a few small things she likes and then put them all together and do it up like a gift basket. I've done that one before for my own mom and for a couple other people. It usually works pretty well since they get a small variety and it's only things they like. I hate buying pre-packaged gift sets because there's usually always a thing or two in them you wish you could take out and trade for something else because you know the person you're getting it for won't dig that item or two. So, I'd rather put my own together. =D Hopefully his mom likes it. He made me laugh when he commented that he just hoped she would want to take her boyfriend to see the Symphony and not ask him to go. I told him at least he hadn't gotten her tickets to see the ballet. ;) He replied that he liked the ballet better than the orchestra. At least with ballet he would have "flexible girls in tights to watch." Lol.

I posted a little Tuesday about some of my guilty pleasures in my TMI answers. I left some off of that list. I don't consider those guilty pleasures really because I don't really feel all that guilty about any of them. Another one that could have been on that list is 80's hair metal. Oh yes. I like to listen that stuff. Def Leppard, Motely Crue, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Faster Pussycat, L.A. guns, Warrant and some others. I love it. "I wanna rock!"

My boyfriend got a promotion at work this week. He loves it because he makes more money and he's constantly busy. There's more work but he's doing fine so far I believe. He does better when he can stay busy and when he gets challenged at something. I'm just happy that he's not hating his job anymore. I'd write more about it but I don't know all that much about it, lol. I'd hate to get the details wrong. He's still at the place he was before that he was contemplating leaving. They got new people in there, the former owner no longer owns anything and no longer works there. One of his bosses that gave him a lot of trouble is gone. He kept working, worrying that he might be one of the next to go. Instead, he got a promotion. I'm glad he stuck it out to see how things played out instead of bailing.
It's nice hearing him excited here and there about his job. It makes me happy for him. =D

"Just turn the page and watch me grow.
There's so many things you don't know about my soul.
Live and die but this will not get old
.
Just when you think that you're down and out,
Don't preconceive what I'm all about.
Look for a reason that you have to start,
Acting like a friend that you were not.
And when you think that we played it out,
We come from the bottom and knock it out
..."

Happy Friday!
Have a great weekend y'all!

Smooth wheels and the devil.

I'm excited. I got some new rollerblades yesterday. I've been wanting to get some. Sport's Authority was having a sale. I got a wicked deal on some Bauer blades. We didn't get home until around 10 pm but I still got them out and took them outside for a test run. So fun. They fit well and they move so smoothly over the pavement. Love them! I'm so happy. I love rollerblading. It's so much fun. :)

I also spent some money in Bath & Body Works. I also purchased my first gift for Giftsmas. Or Christmas, if you like. I hate Giftsmas shopping. I was in there getting some lotion for me, using my coupon for a free item with the purchase of any one item. Pretty sweet deal there. I got a $10 gift card for spending 30 bucks and a $10 off thing for the next purchase. Plus I got $15 whacked off my total that day. I saw something in there perfect for someone and decided why not, you have to start sometime. So I did. Now I'm dreading doing anything else, lol.

I got a couple new bras and another pair of pajama bottoms at another store. I mentioned on Tuesday that pajama bottoms and lingerie are a guilty pleasure of mine. Except, I actually needed some new over the shoulder boulder holders but I had been delaying buying new ones until I could find something good, fitting and reasonably priced. The pajama bottoms were only $8 so I didn't feel bad buying them even though I didn't really need them. I have so many pairs of those things already. They're so comfy though! ;)

I also got a bunch of glow bracelets and glow necklaces. They were discounted leftovers from Halloween. I got 6 multicolored three-packs for $3. Don't ask what I do with them all. I seriously just randomly wear them whenever I feel like it. I love those things, lol. Speaking og Halloween... Since I didn't get around to this "on time" for the holiday.... Lol.

For Halloween this year, I was the devil. :) I didn't have much of a budget to work with so I just did my own make-up with make-up I already had laying around in my cosmetics bag. I love doing my own costumes anyway. Last year for work, I dressed up as a "Fashion Disaster" as my costume. I put on several different layers of clothes and accessories. I did my hair unevenly. I wore a hat that didn't match the clothes I wore. I did my make-up horribly in all kinds of colors that didn't match. I looked awful! It was great. I'm not a fashionable type of girl anyway and my biggest problem doing that costume last year was adding things of color in there. Most of my clothing is black. I bought a few very cheap things to use for it but even with that, it was still much less than buying a costume. And absolutely NO ONE else had the same costume as me. That's another reason why I love doing my own costumes. You don't see anyone with yours. It's cheaper. It's more fun for me too. Anyway, back to this year. I was the devil. See a couple pictures below to see how I looked. ;)

- Yes I have black lipstick. I didn't have to buy any for my costume, lol. Maybe I'll show off some pre-red make-up shots where it's my pale self with all the black make-up on. Maybe. ;) -

Happy Thursday!!!

Unless there's ranch or ketchup.

The first time I heard the song, "Gotta Be Somebody" by Nickelback, I totally and completely hated it. I thought it was such a lame song. Then I heard it again and hated it less. Again and didn't hate it but didn't care. Again and I really listened to the words. I liked the song after that. After thinking about the words and the ways I can relate to the simple meaning in them, I really started liking the song. I haven't much been able to get it out of my head for very long the last couple days. It's not constant so it doesn't bother me. I love this song. Laugh if you want. Trust me, I don't care. I like what I like. People who make fun of other people for liking a different kind of music are silly. I do it sometimes but I'm never serious about it. Which is something people don't get because sometimes it's hard to tell when I'm joking. People like what they like. I don't dig Josh Groban at all but there are plenty out there that go ape shit over his music. Well and fine but not my thing. Back to this song though, I love it. I caught hell from a friend of mine the other day because he considers it a sappy little love song. So what if it is? I normally loathe love songs though. They're generally just so silly and I don't care for them. This one makes me smile.

- "Gotta Be Somebody" Lyrics

It's cold and raining here for the umpteenth day in a row now. I don't mind it. I love when it rains. My only complaint is that I don't get any thunder and lightning shows. Just rain. Which is fine. I love rain. I love the cooler weather. I don't mind cold weather if I have the appropriate clothing to keep warm. Which I do. I love the gloomy weather. I feel so relaxed when it's raining. I love to sit outside and watch the water fall and hit the pavement. Listen to the sounds. The water trickling down from the roof, dripping from the leafs, hitting grass, dirt and pavement. Turning everything a darker color. I love it. *happy sigh*

The Stars don't play again until FRIDAY! FUCK. :( Though hopefully they can use this time to shape up our defense, lol. We're not doing so hot on our D and our goaltending is off too. We're having a slow start but I still have faith in my boys to get it together and put out a good season. I don't have any games to watch until Friday though! *cries* Of course, I can always watch Calgary and San Jose games. :D Of course, it's never as fun watching teams I like/can tolerate as it is to watch *MY* team play. The level of excitement and passion isn't the same. I still enjoy watching other teams though and even have a few that I like and really do get in to watching. Unless they happen to be playing Dallas, then all bets are off in favor of my Stars. :D

Madagascar 2 comes out this weekend. My youngest brother and I both *love* the first Madagascar. I love animated movies. Most of them anyway. So I want to try and take him with me and see that sometime soon. He really wants to see it and I kind of want to see it too. Most sequels are usually pretty silly BUT some sequels, I end up really digging. Which reminds me...

The Transporter 3 is coming out soon! I *love* Jason Statham. I like the first Transporter movie best but I still liked the second one. Hoping the third is good. Of course, I don't have anyone to go to the movies with so I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Or suck it up and learn to go to movies alone, lol.

Wednesday Weirdness :)
Want to play?

1. If you were in a situation where it was either starve to death or resort to cannibalism, would you resort to cannibalism to stay alive or let yourself starve?
I saw a variation of this question somewhere and decided to tweak it to use it here, lol. I know two people won't play this week. They already told me about it since this question weirded them out too much. Oh well. :)

To the answer now. Honestly, I'd have to say that I doubt I'd ever be able to eat human flesh to stay alive. I'd probably start eating tree bark, plants, bugs or dirt first, lol. I'd like to say I'd never do that but since I've never been in the position where I was so desperate, I don't know. I'd like to say I never would but sometimes, we do shit we used to say we would never do because things change. I would totally want to live though I really don't think I could manage doing this one. Unless... I dunno. :)

2. Do you know all of the words to the National Anthem and The Pledge of Allegiance?
Yes and yes.

3. Do you consider yourself a leader or a follower?
I lead. I'm too bossy and aggressive to be a follower. Most of the time.

4. What is your most favorite holiday? Why?
Halloween. It's the only one that doesn't make me feel crazy. :) I enjoy every little thing about it.

5. In what ways, if any, are you superstitious?
Not much but I know there are a few little things. I just can't think of them right now. Urgh!

6. If you had to pick a creature from the Mythical Creatures Guide to be your pet, which would you choose and why?
I would want a Gargoyle as a pet. They protect buildings from evil spirits and that could come in handy. Plus, I bet it would make a lot of people think twice before knocking on my front door trying to sell me something, lol. Also, I got obsessed with them as a kid and have always wished I could have one, lol.

Happy Wednesday!

Swimming in watermelon syrup.

1. Have you ever had a moving violation? An auto accident?
That was your fault?
Nope, nope and nope. I've been in a couple accidents but they've never been while I was driving. I've always just been a passenger in them and generally the people I was with were not the ones at fault either.

My driving record fucking rocks. :D Seriously. No tickets, no accidents, zilch. The no tickets things is mostly in part to me being able to talk myself out of them the few times I have gotten pulled over. I'm sure the big eyes and boobs don't hurt either.

2. Have you ever voted? How old was your were you the first time you voted?
Yes. I know there are other things I can vote on, aside from the presidential election, far more regularly but I usually don't unless it's something I feel something for.

3. Are you glad this election cycle is over?
Gosh yes! I'm so sick of the million lawn signs littering peoples yards, banners flying around everywhere, buttons pinned here, random people death glaring other people because they saw the opposing sticker on someone's car or blah blah blah. Sick of the ads. Sick of changing the dial on the radio because all the radio dj's want to throw in their 10 minute long tirade. Sick of the news being filled with it. And no offense to anyone at all but I've been skipping political posts recently on blogs that have a hundred political posts on them. I don't mind a few here and there but when you're posting three and four a day, please don't be offended when I pass them by as generally, it's all repetition by now. Just formed by different phrases with different words. Blahblahblah. I am glad it's almost all done but I worry about the outcome and the end.

4. Do you have guilty pleasure? What is it (or are they)?
Who doesn't?

Music and books are two big ones. I often skip doing things I should be doing in favor of reading or listening to music. Or reading while listening to music. Oooh la la.

Warm teas are another one. I love good tea.

Socks are another. I love knee high socks. I buy so many pairs. I just love them. I feel warm, comfortable and strangely cute wearing them.

Pajama bottoms and lingerie. I have more than I need. Again, I just love them.

Cuddling. Only with my boyfriend though. I never cared for cuddling much before him. Not sure why. Don't care to psychoanalyze it either since it doesn't matter why.

Rum and dark chocolate. Not together though. :D

5. What is the most embarrassing thing you have done recently?
No clue. I don't embarrass easily so I can't think of anything.

*Bonus* How much impact has the Wall Street and general economic wilt had on you?
Not much. I was poor before it happened and I'm still poor. Okay, a little more seriously though, it hasn't impacted me a lot. My bad habits got cut down because I was more careful with that I spent my money on. I eat out less. I buy less things I don't really need. I didn't buy expensive things, gadgets or toys much before but I did splurge on little inexpensive things I wanted. I cut back on that. That's about it and none of that could be considered as really bad. Other things such as savings, investment in stocks and etc? I don't have my hands in anything like that. So... :) Things will pass and it will get better eventually.

Wednesday Weirdness is tomorrow. I'm up for the questions tomorrow and thankfully, I already have them worked out. I'll post them up this evening at some point.

So it's Tuesday. Which means no work tonight. It also means I'm having a poker game with my youngest brother. He loves Texas Hold 'Em and I dig it too. We also both like a few other poker games. We don't play for money. He's 13 and has no money and I'm poor so we just play for fun and it definitely is fun usually. He's such a goofy, rambunctious little fella. :)

I was at work Monday night and found myself staring into a bottle of watermelon flavored syrup used to flavor drinks. The bottle is clear and I was looking into the liquid and got the random idea that if a tiny little faerie managed to get in there when it was half full, it could swim around in watermelon flavor all day long. Then I wondered if it would turn the little faerie the bold red color of the syrup from being in there for so long. If it splashes on the skin, it tints you a little red until you scrub your hand in warm water and soap. Then I got to looking around for something a little faerie might build a swing inside the bottle. You know, so it could have a place to sit and even swing. When she got tired of swimming around in the sugary syrup. These are the kinds of things I think of when I'm extremely bored at work.

Happy Tuesday!!!

May I quote you?

It's 6 am. Most people are just starting their Monday. However, I, am about to end my "Sunday night" here in a few moments. It was a really fun night after work. It just ended up stretching out a bit longer than I had hoped for and anticipated. Oh well, shit happens. I'll sleep 6 hours and be good. I don't have to work until 6 pm tonight and I don't have anything at all I'm supposed to do today.

So since I have nothing much to say because I'm tired as fuck and want to crawl into my nice comfy bed here soon, I'm going to share some of my favorite quotes with y'all. :) I wanted to post this anyway but just didn't know when I would so voila, perfect opportunity right here. ;) These are not all of my favorite quotes. I know there's a lot but I have a ton I really, really dig. So here you go. Feel free to share one or two or five of yours if you want. You might mention another one of my favorites that I didn't add or give me a new one to put on the list. ;)

Musical Monday

Happy Monday y'all!

Saturday, November 1, 2008

I don't eat butterflies. Saturday Survey.

If you married the person you last called, what would your last name be?
Ortiz.

What did you do Saturday night?
Saturday night would be tonight. I'll be at work from 6 pm until 2:30 AM or later.

Is eye contact awkward?
Rarely. I love eye contact

Would you be a real life pirate back in the old days if you could?
In theory, I say yes because it would be interesting and in part fun. Realistically, fuck no. I like to shower daily and wear clean clothes every day way too much for that shit.

Did you have any unread text messages this morning when you woke up?
Yes. I have those every single day.

Do you collect porcelain dolls? Would you ever?
No and no. Those things creep me the fuck out. They're so odd to me, lol.

Do you enjoy going to Haunted Houses?
Love it! If you go to one that is actually good that is. Most of them are lame as hell plus I don't scare easy and end up more amused than anything. Very laughable and you can see most everything coming. There are some good ones though. Those, I love. :D

What is one thing you would love to happen today?
My 8 and 1/2 hours at work to fly by quickly tonight. That and to make some good money while at work. :)

Do you think you would make a good wife/husband?
I don't know. I've never thought about it. Probably so though. I'd try, lol.

Would you ever work as a waitress, bartender or other food service worker?
I do.

What bill do you hate paying the most?
Any bill, lol.

Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
A what? I don't do romantic honestly. I suppose usually when my boyfriend tries to be romantic, it's lost on me.

Do you regret losing your virginity to who you lost it to?
Nope, not at all.

What do you really want to be doing right now?
Laying in bed, relaxing with my iPod and a good book while wearing comfy pajama bottoms and an oversize t-shirt.

What are your thoughts on gas prices currently?
For now, fucking awesome because it's $2.53 and last week I was paying $3.29.

Favorite lunch meat?
Turkey and chicken but only by a couple brands will I eat it and it has to be freshly cut in the deli. I can't eat the pre-packaged junk. I am sooo picky about lunch meat.

Gray's Anatomy or Desperate Housewives?
Uh... read a book? Lol.

What famous LIVING actor would you like to have dinner with?
Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Adam Sandler, Christopher Walken, Josh Lucas, Edward Norton, Hugh Laurie, Denzel Washington
or Jason Statham. Or maybe Christian Slater if I get to bring a friend along with me. Or Jamie Foxx if I can let a friend go for me. ;)

What is the last book you read?
I'm flipping back and forth between reading "Insomnia" by Stephen King and "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil" by John Berendt.

Last time you had butterflies in your stomach?
I don't eat butterflies.

What noises do you currently hear?

Do you know someone who cries to get what they want?
Yes. I'd like to punch her in the face every time her big alligator tears start falling.
