Purple light glow baby glow...

Hi! Boyfriend and I are a couple hours away from home. We took off yesterday afternoon to come hang out with boyfriend's friend, The Future Cop. He's graduating this morning and wanted us both to come down and see him graduate. So, since we had nothing better to do, we went for it. He invited us out a day early so we could hang out and spend the night. His graduation is in the AM today and then we'll be back home Friday night some time. I set this up to auto-post so I could share what I wanted today and not have to take my laptop with me on our trip out to see The Future Cop. Great stuff I tell you. I'm proud of TFC for graduating. We didn't get off to the best start but we get along well now and I really like the guy. Now if he would just stop getting mixed up with crazy ass girls, he'd be doing better off, lol.

Anyway. =o)

I love flying a kite.... for about 10 minutes. Then I get bored and want to hand my kite off to someone else while I find something else to get in to. I can watch other people mess with them longer than I can actually be in command of one. I'm not sure why I get bored of flying them so quickly but meh, there it is.

Here are some pictures of lightning I got during some recent storms. Not the best quality because I got them with the camera on my cell. They're not bad though. =o)

I like cake but don't care for it all that much. It's okay. I prefer my cake with little to no icing/frosting.

I LOVE cupcakes though.

So when we were grocery shopping, I saw this MONSTER of a cupcake and had to have it. I threw away about 80% of the icing on it and just ate the cake with a little icing mostly.

Mmm. Seriously, that was the biggest fucking cupcake I've ever seen. The only cupcake it's taken me longer than a few minutes to eat. In fact...
It took me almost two weeks to finish this thing off. I was cutting pieces off and eating a little bit every few days. I don't have a big sweet tooth though so I would go several days without touching it. I ate it in six pieces but yet it took me almost two weeks to finish it off, lol. It was delicious though.

I have a Saturday Survey set to post tomorrow. I haven't had time to fool with one of those in a while but I picked it back up again, at least for this weekend.

Have a great weekend y'all!!!!!

I watch the world outside...

Thanks so much to everyone who read yesterday's post and left a comment or sent an e-mail in response. I always enjoy hearing what other people have to say on things. It's interesting to see how people react and think about different things. I find it interesting anyway. So thanks to those who offered up their thoughts on the issue! =o)

I'm trying to sleep... so stop pointing your camera at me... ;)

The Boyfriend and I are leaving Thursday afternoon to go out of town until Friday night. One of his good friends has a graduation that he wants us to come to so, we're heading out Thursday afternoon so we can spend the day there hanging out Thursday. Friday, early in the AM, is the graduation. Then we can hang out there a bit more before heading back home later Friday night.

We went and saw Funny People last night. It was LONG. Holy shit. It wasn't bad. Not as funny as I hope it would be but there were definitely plenty of funny and amusing parts. Very honest and good but LONG. There are a few parts they could had edited out to shorten it up and I wouldn't have missed them, lol.

Have a good day y'all!

I can't believe it but...

I wrote a post on July 10TH about how miserable I've been for the last several months. It was the first and only time I had admitted on my blog about how I was feeling and I don't regret writing that post at all. I've been horribly unhappy and if you read the post, you know why and you know what was keeping me from fixing my situation. If not, check out that post, I explain it there.

So, I'm sitting here typing this out from my new bedroom back in Texas. Yeah, you read that right. Actually, it's my fantastic boyfriend's bedroom which I now happen to live in and take up space in.

I decided Thursday night that I just couldn't stand it anymore. I didn't have enough money saved up though. In my mind, leaving was a bad decision. I didn't have a job waiting for me in Texas. I had a decent enough job in CA. I needed quite a bit of money saved up. I wasn't close to what I wanted to be optimistic about my financial situation but I had enough to get home with my stuff and sit for a couple months and be okay. Logically though, it would have been smarter to tough it out a few more months and save up more money. In my head, I had all sorts of good and valid points that made so much sense. Not just to me, also to the people I was talking with about it.

In my heart, I didn't want to stay any longer. Having money wasn't enough. I just didn't care about saving more money if I was going to be absolutely unhappy as fuck in the process. Life is too damn short to spend month after month a sad, lonely, depressed, emotional mess. So, I listened to my heart and I started packing up everything I owned on Friday.

We (family) have moved over 20 times in the 24 years that I've been alive. In moving so much, I got to where I didn't have a lot of stuff. It was too annoying to pack up and move around a lot of junk so I condensed it down. After I had everything I owned packed it came out to 5 suitcases, 4 boxes that I shipped off via USPS (because they were the cheapest option actually) a few loose odds/ends, 3 pillows and 1 over stuffed backpack.

We loaded up the car. Added an ice chest full of bottled water and Red Bull and off we were. By we, I mean my boyfriend and a guy friend who had flown out to visit. Then he just used some of his vacation time to come on this little road trip with my boyfriend and myself to get me back home to Texas.

I decided so last minute that it would have been unfair to most employers. Except, the supervisor/owner of my job (well, now previous job) happens to be my dad whom was hoping that I would make the decision to leave, to go back home to Texas and be happy. So when he found out, he wasn't mad and already had my weekend shifts covered. Yeah, my dad is awesome. The GM there was happy for me and wished me the best then spent 20 minutes just rambling on. He's a cool guy and I really did enjoy working for him. For the most part.

During packing, I felt a little anxious. The anxiety fell away the more I packed and I got excited. I'd think about the money, more so the lack of it, then I'd feel a bit anxious again. Nothing enough to make me change my mind and stay though.

During the drive, I stressed a little about money and the lack of employment. I was nervous and scared as hell that I'd made a mistake. In New Mexico, I had a minor panic attack and then got calm. I made the drive out of NM and on into Texas. By the time I crossed the TX border, I was so giddy and fucking excited that I knew I'd made the right decision. Albeit, I was still worried and scared about the uncertainty of things but fuck it. Like I said, life is too short to be a miserable mess. I can fix monetary issues easier than I can fix my mental and emotional well being.

We got in late Sunday night. We brought in all my stuff, piled it in a corner of Boyfriend's bedroom and then we passed the fuck out. We woke up Monday and started handling the cleaning and organizing of the bedroom. I got some snazzy room organizing stuff for Target that was thankfully on sale so I didn't have to spend a lot. We got everything unpacked and put away. I even got half of his closet to put my clothes in. This will sound a little odd but because of the minor instability of moving around so much, I haven't had my own bedroom with my own closet in a few years. It felt a little weird to have a place to hang my clothes but it was awesome. I had spent a year in California, sleeping in a living room. I didn't mind it but the lack of privacy sucked. I didn't complain much though. It was what it was and I try my best to make the best of situations.

I'm already a little happier than I have been in a long time. Even though my brain wants to argue with my heart that I wasn't smart enough about the situation, I don't really care. I feel in my gut that I did the right thing for me. I'll take happiness and a some stress over having virtually no stress but being a moody,
lonely, depressed, emotionally fucked bitch. I still have some things to sort out and I'm a little scared and worried about money, the job situation and some other things but it's nothing I can't handle. I'll be a broke ass bitch for now but I'm confident I'll find a job soon enough and hopefully monetary issues will be okay until then.

We hear folks in the city party in Martini Bars...

I transferred the camera pictures over to my computer and I'm going to post a few of those here. When I get the ones off my digital camera uploaded, I'll post a link on here for y'all to go see. I'll be uploading those to my neglected Flickr account, lol. I take way too many pictures. Goodness.

I neglected to mention where it was we would be taking a road trip too when I mentioned we were heading out Tuesday morning. One of my favorite cities is San Francisco. I've been there. I have a friend who lives there (but he's on an extended stay in Amsterdam right now, lucky ass) and another who recently just moved from there. I fell in love with that city the first day I was in it. I know a lot of people can't stand it, a lot of people think this this and that about it, blah blah blah. Whatever, I don't care. A lot of people think California as a whole is a great state but we won't debate that right now, lol. Anyway... A few years ago, I actually contemplated moving there. I probably would have had lack of money and the inability to find an available, affordable apartment not been an issue. Things work out how they do for whatever reasons, I didn't move there and I met my boyfriend instead shortly there after. I can't complain about that at all. Back to the present.

We got there early Tuesday. We stayed at the Parc55 Hotel. It was pretty sweet. I totally plan to stay there again next time I'm in San Fran and have the need for a hotel room.

Here are a few shots from the room.

Our view from the 16th floor:

Our room television. I had it on Discovery, one of my favorite channels while CL ironed a shirt and Boyfriend took a quick shower.:

The super comfy beds that I wanted to steal the pillows and bedding off of when we were leaving Wednesday afternoon. Me and boyfriend with our backpacks had the left and CL and his bulky suitcase had the right:

The hotel bar. The lighting was too dim but they had an awesome set up. Totally classy but very warm and comfortable as well. We were watching ESPN while we had some drinks:

And this is probably the best Mojito I've ever had in my life and I've had a LOT of Mojitos before but DAMN, this one was so good I actually drank it slowly so I could make it last and really enjoy it, lol:

Boyfriend had to check out Alcatraz (pictures later to be uploaded to my Flickr) and of course, the sea lions:

Later in the night Tuesday, after walking a shit load and riding street cars all over the place, we headed back to the hotel and changed clothes. It was time for some fun times involving alcohol, loud music and whatever else. First, food. All the walking will get your tummy rumbling ya know. ;) We debated over a few places but settled on a place and set off in the general direction of the place we settled on. While walking, we passed something else and decided we would rather his that place instead since it looked cool, lol. After checking the menu outside, we decided to go in to Lori's Diner. It's a 50's style place, you enter downstairs and the restaurant is upstairs. They have a wide variety of breakfast and dinner items on the menu and they serve stuff you would expect to find in a place themed after a 50's diner. It was a cool atmosphere, friendly people and the food was good.:

Wednesday morning, after we checked out of the hotel, we went driving around and ended up at the Golden Gate Bridge. Neither Boyfriend or CL had ever been to SF before and it was something they wanted to see. I didn't mind. I love going and seeing everything there, even if I've seen it before.:

Shortly after that, we headed back through SF for the last time. We got some lunch and then started the trip back to where I live currently. We got back Wednesday evening in time for the barbecue my family was having.

Also in time to see the third period and the OT for game 5 of the Detroit and Chicago game. I can't believe I'm saying this and can't believe I've been doing this but, I've been cheering for Detroit to win the series. I knew the Pens were going to take out the Canes and didn't want to see the Blackhawks face the Pens. It's a rematch of last years Stanley Cup and I'm not sure which team I hope for a win out of. I don't like Detroit and I don't really like Pittsburgh either. Both teams have a few players I particularly like (Henriq Zetterberg, Niklas Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski for Detroit & Max Talbot, Miroslav Satan and Marc-Andre Fleury
for Pittsburgh) though. So, meh. It should be a damn good series though. Too bad I have to miss most of the games due to work. At least I can follow them here and there on my cell though. ;)

Happy Thursday!
