Zombie Brew! Plus,,, Moneyball, Rangers & Stars!

The Boyfriend got me a few things last night, just because he's awesome and likes to get me gifts randomly for no real reason. He got me two new paperbacks I've been wanting but have yet to buy myself and a new coffee mug complete with a zombie buddy! I know some of you might be unsure of what exactly a "zombie buddy" is since I wasn't sure until last night myself, heh. So, here you go....

Adorable, right? Okay, maybe not to most people but I dig it. Cute little plushy thing and a new coffee mug to go along with two new books. Awesome stuff, for sure.

Keeping with the theme here, here's a recipe for Adult Zombie Brew. Although this won't be going in the coffee cup. ;)

1 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Gold Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
1 tsp. 151 Rum
1/2 oz. Apricot Brandy (Or cherry brandy)
2 oz. Orange Juice (Or papaya juice)
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Lime Juice
1 tsp. Sugar
1 cup Crushed Ice

In a blender, combine all ingredients except the 151 with crushed ice. Blend at a high speed until smooth and pour into a Collins glass. Float the 151 rum on top and garnish with a maraschino cherry. To make it on the rocks, add all ingredients except 151 rum into a cocktail shaker with 1/4 a cup of ice, shake well, strain into a glass with 1/2 cup or desired amount of ice. Float 151 rum on top, garnish with maraschino cherry.

I love Halloween. It's by far my favorite holiday and even though most people only celebrate it for the one day, I pretty much enjoy it all month long, haha. :D

Aside from all of that......

The Boyfriend and I went to see Moneyball last night. Not bad at all. Kind of long and a little slow to get going but still a good movie. Even if it is about one of the teams I dislike most in baseball, haha. :D That's pretty much irrelevant. Even though the movie is based off the Billy Beane and the A's story, the movie is pretty much about the way Beane changed things up. Which I won't talk much about the movie in case any of you reading want to see it but haven't yet. Definitely go see it! Unless you don't like movies about sports, being the underdog, trying something unorthodox and attempting to succeed when everyone's telling you you're wrong.

Speaking of, RANGERS ARE IN THE ALCS! Game two was supposed to be yesterday but got postponed due to all the rain Arlington saw on Saturday night. I saw a lot of people bitching about it being postponed but I was happy about it. The field was too wet. Do you really want poor playing conditions to help dictate a game? Wet field means people could slip, slide and miss plays they normally would have made because of it. I don't want that happening and am happy they postponed the game. Texas won game one and now we need to win three more to go to the World Series for the second year in a row. EXCITING! :D

Also in sports, The Boyfriend and I are going to the Stars game tonight against Pacific Division rivals, the Phoenix Coyotes. We went to the home opener Friday night against the Blackhawks, where the Stars won in spectacular, energetic fashion. They played back to back with the Hawks, facing them again Saturday night, in Chicago. Goaltending was off and most of the team didn't play well. Adam Burish looked awesome (he did miss the game Friday though since he's been working on coming back from a groin injury) and he looks great player on Fiddler's line, in my opinion. They're both speedy and I like the chemistry they seem to have going so far. I'm hoping for a good effort from the team tonight. Yay hockey being back!

Happy Monday!

Guess what I got? :)

I got a package in the mail yesterday. My younger sister had ordered me a gift in plenty of time to get it and send it to me by my birthday June 15th. After she ordered it, it went on backorder so we had to wait. It finally came in and I got it yesterday. I've been waiting and waiting to see what my sister got for me that was so hard to get a hold of.

Awesome, eh? ;)

Any guess about what it is?

A drawstring bag and a bunch of boxes!

You win if you guessed that.

Ready to see what's in the boxes?

I know you are.....

Ok ok...........

HA!

Ok, for real this time........

*Click here to see larger images.*

If you guessed the boxes contained a flask and set of six shot glasses, you were right. Come one, no one guessed that! If you did magically guess that, you definitely didn't guess that it was a Boondock Saints flask and shot glass set. ;)

The first time I saw the movie was in 2003. I was hanging out with one of my guy friends at his apartment and we had been playing video games and drinking for a few hours. And yeah, for those who know how old I am, I was totally partaking in some illegal underage drinking. Totally not the worst thing I was doing at the time but I digress. Back on track here. We gave up on the video games after a few hours of me kicking his ass at whatever game we were playing and decided we'd watch a movie. He pulled out The Boondock Saints and asked if I had seen it. I said I hadn't and he said I had to watch it because it was one of his favorite movies. I loved it. I also love Willem Dafoe. :D And even now that it's more popular, especially due to a second one FINALLY coming out recently, I still love it. So, I was quite happy with my sister's present and totally surprised by it.

Moving on, one more thing I want to share not related to my gift from my awesome younger sister....

Fangs decided he wanted to do my hair for me. I admit, it looked crappy. I've needed a haircut really badly but haven't been able to afford one. I normally cut my own hair but my step-cousin's wife did my hair last year in several layers and my hair was still in layers. Just many inches longer than when she cut it. I didn't want to mess up the layers so I just left my hair alone. It's been so hot due to the whole summer thing my mass of super long and heavy hair has been killing me. So, Fangs did my hair for me. He cut 5 inches off the longest layer and said longest layer is now only 1.5 inches below my shoulders now. It feels so good to not have so much hair weighing me down. He also colored it for me, too. He said some stuff left over from when he last did his hair. He had purchased several different colors because he had been indecisive on what to get for himself. So he had a couple colors for me to pick from for him to do my hair. And it wasn't box stuff, he doesn't roll that way. So, I got a great hair cut and a pretty new color and my hair looks so nice again. My step-cousin's wife had done it lighter and then done two different tones of high lights in it but since my hair's grown, my natural color was there then flowed into the color/highlights and yeah... wasn't looking good. It's all good now, though. And I didn't have to pay for it but I did cook dinner for him as a thank you. Pictures of the color coming some time next week. Or maybe on Sunday. I'd say tomorrow but I already have a post scheduled. ;)

Happy Thursday!

Comments, anyone?

And it's the stars, the stars that shine for you....

I LOVE stars. For once, I'm not talking about the Dallas Stars either. (Though y'all know I love them too.) My boyfriend got me this necklace a couple years ago. Not for any reason. Just because. He saw it and knew I would like it because it was a star and it was simple in design. Nothing too girly. Nothing too flashy. So he got it for me and gave it to me. I remember asking what it was for. When we were finally in a serious relationship together, I was a little suspicious about his "just because" gifts. I'd never had a dude that got me things "just because" as often as he did. He said he just liked to get me little things because it made me smile and because I get excited and goofy about them. True story. I still do. He still gets me little random things, just because, almost 3 years later. Nothing ever expensive and usually not jewelry because I don't really wear a lot of jewelry and prefer things that are darker and less shiny, lol. I digress. I thought I lost this necklace. I hadn't seen any sight of it for around 6 months now and figured after going through my things several times in search of it that it must be gone, lost for good. I found it yesterday. Buried in my backpack in a hidden inner pocket. How it got there, I have no idea. I was happy to see it though. I traded in my standard choker yesterday and wore this lovely dangling little thing instead. I would forget I had it on until I would shift a certain way and one of the points would gently poke into my skin, reminding me it was there. Which subsequently reminded me of how sweet my boyfriend can be and put me in a better mood. You can click that picture up top to see a slightly bigger picture of the necklace.

I went to Best Buy yesterday. I purchased two games for my Nintendo DS. One of them was LEGO Batman! I came SO dangerously close to buying a Wii too. I want one. We used to have one. We don't anymore. 22 and his girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend, had a not so good breakup and she took the Wii back since it was a gift from her. Bitch. Anyway, I miss the Wii. I had the money to buy it. I need the money for other things though. The pull was strong though. It definitely didn't help that the Wii was on the same aisle as all the DS games. I called Boyfriend and had him be my willpower to talk me out of buying the Wii. Lol. Usually, I have no willpower issues when it comes to spending money. I'm very good at budgeting and saving. I just had a temporary *moment* and wanted to go spend crazy and get that Wii. I was fine once I was out of that damn store and happy I hadn't wasted the money. I can get a Wii once I get moved back to Texas and have a job going there.

Weak and want you need, nowhere as you bleed....

I did that sex meme yesterday that has been going around. I was kind of amused by some of the emails I got in regards to some of my answers. I even put a little disclaimer up. You would think "sex" meme alone would tip some folks off. The disclaimer spelled it right out for them too. Simple people. Don't email me and bitch about what I write, I'm going to ignore you. Seriously. Delete your email without replying and just laugh about it. Then write about it and gently poke more fun at you because you're whiny little butt (or big butt, whatever the case may be) has to complain about something instead of just moving on. You don't like it, don't read it. Go find a blog about cupcakes, movies, kittens, flying kites, making Play-Doh castles, cooking, seagulls, hot air balloons, pictures of leaves falling off trees or whatever suits your fancy. Mmmkay thanks bye! =)

A couple blogger friends of mine were giving me a hard time the other day. We were having a little group chat thing and they were teasing me for the fact that most of my clothing is black. They asked if I owned a single shirt that wasn't black. Of course, I do. I own some red ones, a dark green one, some grey ones, a few white ones, a couple blue ones and even an orange one. Also, this purple one I've got on right here. So, there. *sticking tongue out* There's nothing wrong with wearing black by the way. Don't ask why I own that purple t-shirt. The design on it was badass and I do like the color purple. Plus, it was on sale. Yuh.

Yesterday, I went and saw Underworld 3 again. Youngest Brother wanted to see it again and so did I. Little Sister hasn't seen it yet so she went with this time. I still love it. Mmmm. I love love love the Underworld movies. I think they're some of my favorites. As a matter of fact, we're about to watch the first one again. It's been far too long since I've seen it. =)

My boyfriend rocks. Of course, for a multitude of reasons which I brag talk about now and again. The praise of his rocking-ness today comes from a happy little surprise. I got a Valentines Day gift early yesterday. I got this....

It's a NintendoDS Lite. In onyx. Isn't it cuuute? Okay, so not as cute as some people find fluffy teddy bears and little puppies holding "I Love You" hearts but it got me feeling a certain level of "awwww" warm and fuzzy. I'm not a cards, candy, jewelry girl for the most part. I've wanted a DS for the longest time now. I was so beyond excited to get my hands on this little amazing monster.

I felt a little bad that he spent that much on me though. So I paid for the Guitar Hero bundle and Super Mario 64 DS plus the one year warranty for the DS.

I've already been playing Guitar Hero. Surprise! I've cleared several levels already but had to give my hand a break. Not like that pervos. Calm down. ;) Here's a few Guitar Hero shots. So fun.

I'm not a fan of Valentines Day honestly. I don't like it. My boyfriend gets in to it though. He likes to celebrate it and has fun with it. It makes him all kinds of happy. I'd feel like such a bitch with him getting me things and doing special things for me if I did absolutely nothing in return for him. Especially given that he does so awesome for me and plus, he's not so happy about the fact that we aren't going to be together this time around. So while I have never liked the holiday and find it ridiculous, I don't skip doing something for him in return just because it's my least favorite "holiday" all year. That would make me suck, in a bad way, for sure. I'd feel like a bitch, shithead, asshole etc, know what I mean? So, I got him a bunch of little things, a special little something and one awesome thing so I can send them off to him. Awww.

I'm skipping the Weirdness today. The questions are good this week but I'm not in the meme mood today. I'll probably answer them next week and have double the questions instead, lol.
