Vegas fun...

My boyfriend and I just got back yesterday from a small vacation in Vegas. It was my first time going as well as his and the city was as much fun and as full of awesome as the people we know who have gone said it was. Not that I doubted them at all.

We spent Halloween there which was awesome. And yes, we did dress up. I was a pirate and my boyfriend was Mario from Super Mario Bros....

I won't bore you all with every detail of our vacation in Vegas. ;) I'll share a few things, though.

A few of the things we did:

Saw Cirque Du Soleil's Mystère at Treasure Island. The show, no surprise, was fucking amazing. I love Cirque shows and seriously wanted to see that one again at the next show time I enjoyed it that much. We didn't do that however since there's too much to do in Vegas for repeating stuff like that.

We went to Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. That was awesome. I learned about a few different species of sharks and saw one of the largest manta rays I have ever seen in my life. I love the ocean and it's creatures and going to aquariums is one of my very favorite things. Also, I met a guy at the Aquarium who owns a Batmobile. I was wearing a Batman tee & he said, "I bet I'm a bigger Batman fan than you are." Then proceeded to show me the Batmobile he has parked at his house. Not sure about a bigger Batman fan but definitely a huge fan with a lot more money than I have. Though he was kind of a douchebag so I think I need to track him down and "borrow without intent to return" his Batmobile because someone that douchey doesn't deserve something so awesome, haha.

I was also mistaken as a prostitute on two separate occasions by two different guys that were probably in their late thirties to early forties. At least that's how old they both looked to me. Neither of them were creepy about it though, they were both discreet and left me alone once it was made apparent that I'm not a hooker. Oddly enough I was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans both times that happened.

"Excuse me miss but can you tell us who you think has the nicer fake rack?" -Random guy to me, asking me to judge between two dudes dressed up as Showgirls for Halloween. They both made compelling arguments for why they each thought their rack was the better looking one and I made my pick based on the dude with the best argument since their fake racks looks almost identical, haha.

And one of the funniest things I overheard happened in a restroom in one of the many casinos we checked out, between a couple of drunk women at Treasure Island.

Lady1: "Look, a mini plush pirate! Isn't he cute. Laura, say hey to my little friend!"

Lady2: "No thanks! Lately all I've seen is little friends made out of limp material!"

Then they both laughed so hard they ended up laying in the bathroom floor holding their sides and crying. One of them started kicking her feet around and ended up sending one of her heels flying across the room into a sink. The woman at the sink next to the one the shoe landed in picked it up and threw it pretty hard at the two ladies and that ended their giggle fit and almost started a fight.

On Halloween night, we got stuck outside the Bellagio hotel because they were shutting the street down because they were filming a scene out of a movie and couldn't get down the sidewalk. The scene was someone parachuting out of a helicopter so they had that portion of street shut down for about 15 minutes. We could have gone back in and gone around a different way but opted to stand there and watch since they said we could do that. They wouldn't tell us what the movie was but we figured out that they'd been filming scenes for the Hangover 3 in Vegas all of this week and also ewkn they had shut part of the Bellagio's casino down on Monday for the first day of filming whatever movie. So now I'll have to watch the damn movie when it comes out to see if that's really what it was. They were cool and let us take pictures as long as we could do so without moving further out passed their barrier.

And that's all I'm sharing. I had a great time and will definitely go back since there is still plenty of stuff I want to do and see out there. Plus it's a lot of fun and makes hardly sleeping totally worthwhile.

Non-Vegas related, the Toys for Tots Blogger Fundraiser is up and running right now! Thanks to the people who have donated already and thanks to those retweeting my tweets about it and trying to help promote it with me. I appreciate it. I might have a giftcard contest going on shortly for people helping me promote the fundraiser as well as people who have donated and are going to donate a few bucks. I've been given a giftcard to do a giveaway with on my blog and I chose it to be for Target. I have the idea that donating and/or helping me promote the fundraiser will be the way to gain entries for the giveaway but I have to make sure the people that gave me the giftcard don't mind me tying the giveaway to my fundraiser. So, keep your eyes out for that one.

Happy Friday!

Zombie Brew! Plus,,, Moneyball, Rangers & Stars!

The Boyfriend got me a few things last night, just because he's awesome and likes to get me gifts randomly for no real reason. He got me two new paperbacks I've been wanting but have yet to buy myself and a new coffee mug complete with a zombie buddy! I know some of you might be unsure of what exactly a "zombie buddy" is since I wasn't sure until last night myself, heh. So, here you go....

Adorable, right? Okay, maybe not to most people but I dig it. Cute little plushy thing and a new coffee mug to go along with two new books. Awesome stuff, for sure.

Keeping with the theme here, here's a recipe for Adult Zombie Brew. Although this won't be going in the coffee cup. ;)

1 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Gold Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
1 tsp. 151 Rum
1/2 oz. Apricot Brandy (Or cherry brandy)
2 oz. Orange Juice (Or papaya juice)
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Lime Juice
1 tsp. Sugar
1 cup Crushed Ice

In a blender, combine all ingredients except the 151 with crushed ice. Blend at a high speed until smooth and pour into a Collins glass. Float the 151 rum on top and garnish with a maraschino cherry. To make it on the rocks, add all ingredients except 151 rum into a cocktail shaker with 1/4 a cup of ice, shake well, strain into a glass with 1/2 cup or desired amount of ice. Float 151 rum on top, garnish with maraschino cherry.

I love Halloween. It's by far my favorite holiday and even though most people only celebrate it for the one day, I pretty much enjoy it all month long, haha. :D

Aside from all of that......

The Boyfriend and I went to see Moneyball last night. Not bad at all. Kind of long and a little slow to get going but still a good movie. Even if it is about one of the teams I dislike most in baseball, haha. :D That's pretty much irrelevant. Even though the movie is based off the Billy Beane and the A's story, the movie is pretty much about the way Beane changed things up. Which I won't talk much about the movie in case any of you reading want to see it but haven't yet. Definitely go see it! Unless you don't like movies about sports, being the underdog, trying something unorthodox and attempting to succeed when everyone's telling you you're wrong.

Speaking of, RANGERS ARE IN THE ALCS! Game two was supposed to be yesterday but got postponed due to all the rain Arlington saw on Saturday night. I saw a lot of people bitching about it being postponed but I was happy about it. The field was too wet. Do you really want poor playing conditions to help dictate a game? Wet field means people could slip, slide and miss plays they normally would have made because of it. I don't want that happening and am happy they postponed the game. Texas won game one and now we need to win three more to go to the World Series for the second year in a row. EXCITING! :D

Also in sports, The Boyfriend and I are going to the Stars game tonight against Pacific Division rivals, the Phoenix Coyotes. We went to the home opener Friday night against the Blackhawks, where the Stars won in spectacular, energetic fashion. They played back to back with the Hawks, facing them again Saturday night, in Chicago. Goaltending was off and most of the team didn't play well. Adam Burish looked awesome (he did miss the game Friday though since he's been working on coming back from a groin injury) and he looks great player on Fiddler's line, in my opinion. They're both speedy and I like the chemistry they seem to have going so far. I'm hoping for a good effort from the team tonight. Yay hockey being back!

Happy Monday!

Pictures & stuff...

On Halloween, I usually have to work. No biggie, I tend to work jobs where I work that night and can still dress up thus making it still fun in a lot of ways.

This year, I had Halloween off.

Saturday, the 30th, I didn't go to any Halloween parties or festivities. My mom's birthday was Wednesday and since we were all going to the Stars/Sabres game Saturday with the free tickets I talked about already, we agreed we would celebrate her birthday on Saturday to save them an additional trip up to Dallas. (They're staying about 90 minutes away from where I love for now.)

We went to lunch at one of my mom's favorite restaurants mid-afternoon Saturday. Then we went to the Galleria mall in Dallas to do some shopping and looking around. Then it was time for the Stars game. The game was fucking great. Not just because the Stars won 4-0, shutting out the Sabres. They also just played a good game and we had a fun time. There was also birthday cake and presents, too. My boyfriend made my mom red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I decorated it with red and purple stuff. I even set up a little table with confetti and decorations that I made. My mom said it was one of the best birthday celebrations she's had in a while so that made me happy.

Back to Halloween now. :D I had Halloween off which surprised me. I assumed since I requested Saturday off, I'd have to work Sunday but my boss (in one of his few cool moments) let me have that Sunday off, too. Sunday tends to be my day off anyway so woohoo.

I didn't buy a costume because I didn't have the money to spend on it. So, I opted to do like I have the last few years and just throw together something with stuff I already have. Clever, I know. Lol.

That is my eye makeup. :)

I forgot to get a picture of my lips but I did them lined in black then did half red half blue lipstick and topped it with a clear gloss so it was shiny. In this pic, I hadn't yet done my lips yet because I was waiting on my friend to bring me the colored lipsticks.

I wore:

The black and red feather boa you see in the picture.
A red Ian Kinsler (Texas Rangers) jersey t-shirt.
A long sleeved purple plaid shirt that has teal and green in it as well.
Dark blue jeans.
Grey cotton gym shorts.
An orange and brown striped cotton scarf.
A black bandanna with neon colored stars.
Devil horns on my head.
One totally black DC skate shoe.
One neon colored flip flop.

The plaid shirt, I wore one sleeve as it should be with it buttoned properly at the wrist. The other sleeve I had rolled up to my elbow. The bandanna was wrapped around the wrist and forearm of the arm that had the rolled up sleeve.

I wore the grey cotton gym shorts on the outsides of my jeans.

I had the cotton scarf wrapped around one of my knees and tied in a pretty bow.

The foot that had the neon colored flip flop, I also wore a purple and black plaid sock on that foot.

Devil horns were on my head.

I wore the feather boa all night.

My costume? A fashion disaster, lol. I had people asking me all night what I was supposed to be. Most laughed and said I'd done good when I told them what I was. I don't have a camera but The Lawyer was taking pictures all night so he got some good ones.

After going out, we (myself, The Lawyer & Girl) went back to my place. We had tacos and watched a movie while hanging out. It was a pretty laid back Halloween (and the first Halloween I didn't drink on in years) but I had fun hanging out with some friends.

Anyway...

This reminds me.... I need to update the cast list on the blog because I've made tweets mentioning The Lawyer, Girl and some other people and then I have people inquiring about who and what I'm talking about because I haven't updated the list since I made it, lol.

If you haven't already, make sure you check out the Toys for Tots post. I'm taking donations until December so there's still plenty of time to donate a few dollars for a great cause. :)

Happy Tuesday!

Make my day, bitches...

I'm going to be doing my Toys for Tots fundraiser post soon! I had a post for it scheduled for last Friday but I had an issue with something and delayed it. I'm excited to get to do it again this year. Hopefully I can get a good amount of people to help out again. I had fun and it's such a great cause. Look for that post sometime this week. I have some stuff to get set up with it and then it'll be up, running and ready for donations. :) Woohoo! :D If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here to check it out. :)

I'm just going to do some miscellany today. I have some semi-serious stuff I've been contemplating blogging about but for now, I'm so tired that I'm just not feeling it.

So, here is a "Halloween" themed survey I pulled off Tumblr. :)

What was your first Halloween costume?
I don't even know. The first one I remember was a rock star. I should find a picture and post it on here one day. xD

What costume did you hate?
I don't think I've ever hated one. I've always picked my own and wouldn't pick one I didn't like.

What are you going to be this year?
I'll be in my work clothes this year because I'll be working.

What was your most expensive costume?
Vampire Zombie. I couldn't decide, so I decided to combine the two and make my own costume.

What was your favorite costume?
Vampire Zombie! :D

When was the last time you went trick-or-treating?
When I was 18, lol.

M&Ms or Skittles?
Skittles, I'm not a chocolate fan.

Berry or Tropical Flavored candies?
I like both.

White, Milk, or Dark Chocolate?
I can do dark chocolate but again, not really a fan of chocolate.

Sour or Sweet?
Sour.

Chewy or Crunchy?
I like both, just depends on what it is.

Cloddhoppers or Whoppers?
I have no idea what cloddhoppers are and I dislike Whoppers so neither.

Chocolate-covered: Raisins or Peanuts?
Neither. I dislike raisins and don't care much for peanuts. Or chocolate, lol.

Starburst or Gobstoppers?
Both!

Bubble gum or lollipops?
Lollipops with the bubblegum inside! ;)

NERDS or Pop Rocks?
NERDS.

What was the first horror movie you saw?
I don't remember what it was called but it had these ridiculous little creatures in them that were spiky and there was a farm. That's all I remember. I was at my grandparents house for the weekend being "sneaky" and turned on the cable and watched it. Then didn't sleep all night, haha.

What was the last horror movie you saw?
I don't even bother watching horror movies these days, they're so laughable to me. I do love Rob Zombie's movies, though. They're not scary but they're pretty well done.

Zombies or Aliens?
ZOMBIES.

Ghosts or Vampires?
Either or. As long as they're not fluffy vampires like the ones from the Twilight books.

What is the goriest movie you have seen?
Hostel is the only one that is coming to mind right now but that wasn't too bad.

Who is scarier: The Ring girl or The Exorcist girl?
Uh, neither, lol. I guess if I have to pick, The Exorcist. The little twin girls in The Shining are way creepier than both of these chicks, though. ;)

Who is Scarier: The Saw clown or the Chucky doll?
The Saw clown I guess (even though those movies are ridiculous) mainly because clowns creep me out. Also, I didn't get the Chucky thing. Step on him, rum him over with a car, pick him up and smack him around, drop kick him, punt him like a football; it's a fucking 2 foot tall doll for crying out loud, lol.

What did you like better: Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of The Dark?
ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK! I watched that show all the time when I was a kid. I loved the Goosebumps books, though.

What do you prefer: Resident Evil or Silent Hill?
Resident Evil.

What was the scariest video game you have played?
Meh, video games don't scare me, lol.

What are you doing for Halloween this year?
Probably going to have to work. :( Which is a bummer since Halloween is my absolute most favorite holiday.

What is your biggest pet peeve about trick-or-treaters?
When you give them candy and they complain about not liking what you gave them. Or when they don't say anything and just stand there with their bag held open.

Do you like going to the fun theme haunted houses that are designed to try to scare the pants off of you?
No, I don't ever get scared so it feels like a waste of money, lol. It is fun to mess with other people, though. :D

What was your favorite jack-o-lantern you helped carve?
When we did Jack Skellington themed jack-o-lanterns! :D <3

That was fun. Ish. Lol. If you decide to do the Halloween survey, make sure you comment and let me know you did it so I can come check out your answers! Please. :)

Now, I leave you with a couple pictures that are posted on my Tumblr.

I want a fucking cake like this! How awesome would that be?! Mmm.

*Ahem....*

If you don't follow me on Tumblr, you totally should. :)

Happy Monday!
